IMCA Modifieds chase $1,000 top prize, late season points Saturday at Independence 

INDEPENDENCE, Iowa (Sept. 13) – Along with a $1,000 top prize and a spot on the ballot for next year’s Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational, Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modifieds race for valua­ble late-season points at Independence Motor Speedway’s Saturday, Sept. 17 Albert Auto Septem­ber Spectacular.

The Spectacular is the only sanctioned Modified special in Iowa this weekend. IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars run for $750 to win, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods for $500 to win and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks for $400 to win.

IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National and Allstar Performance points will be given in all four divisions. Regional points will be awarded to Modified, Stock Car and Hobby Stock driv­ers.

Trophies will be awarded to the top three finishers in all divisions at the draw/redraw show.

Pit gates open at 4 p.m. Hot laps are at 6 p.m. with racing to follow. Grandstand admission is $12 for adults, $10 for seniors and free for ages 12 and under.

There is no entry fee and pit passes are $25.

Prizes to be given away to fans include a television, two grills, Hawkeye bag boards, Ez-Up can­opy, a cooler and Fareway gift cards, NAPA of Cedar Rapids gift cards and $400 good toward the pur­chase of a set of tires from Albert Auto.
