BRITT, Iowa – The stars of the Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modified division will shine in three Iowa Speedweek events at Hancock County Speedway.
The Night of 1,000 Stars on Thursday, Aug. 11, Night of 10,000 Stars on Friday, Aug. 12, and the All Star Race on Saturday, Aug. 13 at Britt all boast potential winner’s checks of $10,000, meaning the driver winning all three nights could take home $30,000.
All three races are 50 laps in distance with a mandatory pit stop on the front stretch on lap 25, and are 2017 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifying events. All three events will also be broadcast by IMCA.TV.
Thursday’s winner is guaranteed $3,500. Another $2,500 in lap money is at stake. A $2,000 bonus will be paid if the winner has raced six times previously this season at Britt; $1,000 bonuses will be paid to the leader at midway of the 50-lapper and if the winner has perfect attendance at Hancock County this year.
IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars run for $700 to win, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks both for $500 to win at the 22nd annual Night of 1,000 Stars, sponsored by Prichard Auto Stores and Lake Mills Motorsports
Friday’s Modified winner earns $7,000, with $1,000 bonuses if they are a previous winner of the Night of 1,000 Stars, raced at least 10 times previously at Britt this season and if they’ve won a feature at Hancock County in 2016.
Stock Cars chase a $1,000 top prize. Northern SportMods race for $500 to win, Hobby Stocks for $400.
DuPont Pioneer and DuPont Crop Protection sponsor the fourth annual Night of 10,000 Stars.
Saturday’s Modified winner is guaranteed $4,000 with a $5,000 bonus paid if they’ve got perfect attendance this season at HCS. A bonus of $1,000 will be paid to the lap 25 leader.
Stock Cars race for $1,000 to win, SportMods and Hobby Stocks for $500 and Mach-1 Sport Compacts for $300.
The All Star Race is sponsored by Farm Nutrients LLC and the Landus Corporation.
Fireworks follow Thursday and Friday shows. Pit gates open at 4:30 p.m. with hot laps at 6:30 p.m. and racing to follow. On Saturday, gates open at 2:30 p.m. and hot laps are at 4:30 p.m. with racing following.
Grandstand admission is $18 for adults, $10 for kids ages 6-12 and free for five and under all three nights. Modified entry fees are $100 a night. Late entry is $130. Pit passes are $35.
