Pre-registrations encouraged for inaugural Dirt Duel at Knoxville Raceway

KNOXVILLE, Iowa – Drivers in both the Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modified and Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod divisions can go to the www.thedirtduel.com website to register early for the Thursday, July 21 Dynamic Drivelines Dirt Duel at Knoxville Raceway.

The inaugural Dirt Duel is the third in a three-night swing for the IMCA Hawkeye Dirt Tour. Modifieds race for $1,500 to win and $300 to start that evening while Northern SportMods chase a top prize of $1,000 and $100 to start.

“Interest among our drivers in racing at Knoxville is always very high and we expect to have excellent car counts in both divisions at the Dirt Duel,” noted IMCA President Brett Root. “Pre-registering makes the race day process easier for everyone involved.”

IMCA marketing partners Karl Performance and Aero Race Wheels are among contingency sponsors for the event. TiLube hosts the tailgate party planned before the grandstand opens at 6 p.m.

Pit gates open at 2 p.m. and the 6 p.m. drivers’ meeting precedes hot laps. Racing starts at 7 p.m.

Spectator admission is $15 for adults, $10 for students and free for 12 and under. Drivers’ pit passes are $25; all others are $30.
