DODGE CITY, Kan. – The United Rebel Sprint Series National Points Chase starts this weekend with the URSS Series visiting Dodge City Raceway Park for two nights of racing Friday and Saturday, July 1 and 2 during the Boothill Showdown.
The Showdown features the Rebels vs. the DCRP Sprints. Friday’s preliminary feature is a $500 to win, $125 to start payout with Saturday’s feature a $2,000 to win, $250 to start with non-transferring drivers guaranteed $100.
Look for a stellar field of the Midwest’s best 305 Sprints Cars to make the trip to the 3/8’s mile oval to run for bragging rights. Luke Cranston is the current URSS Kansas Region point leader with Zach Blurton, Steven Richardson, Jed Werner and Jeff Radcliffe rounding out the top five.
The weekend kicks off the 2016 URSS “Month of Money” with more than $100,000 in purse money up for grabs. Eight of the 13 races are for national points and are guaranteed to bring out the cream of the crop drivers in the Midwest Region.
Cars from Kansas, Colorado, Nebraska and Oklahoma will be attending this event. Races start at 7:30 p.m. both nights. Tickets to the Boothill Showdown, featuring the Steve King Memorial are $25 with children 11 and under free when accompanied by an adult. Pit passes are $30 each night.
The Rebels then make their sixth appearance at WaKeeney Speedway on Sunday. The five races held there have produced as many different winners … Blurton, Richardson, Cranston, Jake Martens and Werner have all visited victory lane this season.
