Seventh annual IMCA Sheen Memorial is July 2-3 at Cardinal Speedway     

EUNICE, N.M. – Four IMCA divisions are featured at Cardinal Speedway’s seventh annual Kelly Sheen Memorial Shootout Saturday and Sunday, July 2-3.

Qualifying begins on Saturday. Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Scoggin-Dickey Parts Center SportMods all run Sunday for $1,100 to win while IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks vie for a top check of $500.

The Modified feature is a 2016 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifying event. All IMCA feature winners receive a 55-gallon drum of fuel in addition to their cash winnings and fireworks follow the Sunday show.

IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, regional and Allstar Performance State points will be awarded to Modified, Stock Car and Hobby Stock drivers; Southern SportMod drivers race for national and state points.

Cash awards of $100 will be paid to the hard charger in each division.

Gates open at 5 p.m. and an open practice runs from 7-10 p.m. Friday, July 1. General admission is free while pit passes are $20. Food and beverages following in the pit area are provided by Kendall’s Kountry Meat Market.

Pit gates open at 3 p.m. Mountain Time, the draw closes at 6 p.m. and racing starts at 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Spectator admission is $10 on Friday and $15 on Saturday; kids six and under get in free both days. Pit passes are $20 on Saturday and $25 on Sunday.
