Kennedale kicks off new race season with March 1-2 special

KENNEDALE, Texas (Feb. 25) – Four IMCA divisions are on the program for Kennedale Speedway Park’s season-opening Spring Kick-Off special this Saturday and Sunday, March 1-2.

IMCA Eagle Motorsports RaceSaver Sprint Cars run for $800 to win on Saturday.

Texas Lone Star Series shows are slated both nights for IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Scoggin-Dickey Parts Center Southern SportMods.

Stock Cars run as part of Wild Child Race Cars and Southern SportMods as part of Southwest Racing Specialties-sponsored series shows.

Modifieds race for $600 to win, Stocks and SportMods both for $500 to win. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing national, regional and Allstar Performance state points will be awarded.

An open practice begins at 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 28. Pit gates open at 3 p.m. and racing starts at 6 p.m. Saturday; gates open at noon and racing starts at 2 p.m. on Sunday.

There is no entry fee and pit passes are $25. Grandstand admission is $12 for adults, $8 for seniors and military personnel with ID, $5 for kids ages 6-11 and free for five and under.

Series races are the fourth and fifth of 2014 for the Modifieds, Stock Cars and Southern SportMods.

Deschamp Shines in Stock Car Thriller at Nodak Speedway

(Apr. 27, 2025) — Sunoco IMCA Stock Cars took center stage at Nodak Speedway’s season opener, and the 3/8-mile “Playground of Power” delivered thrilling side-by-side action on a crisp Sunday evening. Chris Tuchscherer, the 2005 Williston Basin Stock Car champion and double-duty driver for the night, grabbed the early lead. However, two-time defending track champion Will Scheresky found a way around him by lap 4 and began pulling away before a caution slowed the field on the fifth circuit. On the restart, Gabe Deschamp — fresh off a win at Marshalltown’s Frostbuster earlier in the month — tracked down Scheresky and completed a bold move on the inside to take command on lap 6. DeYoung Powers to Crystal Victory, Extends Incredible Streak

(Apr. 26, 2025) — Myron DeYoung proved the high side was the fast lane at Crystal Motor Speedway, using a late-race move to claim his first Friesen Performance IMCA Modified win of the 2025 season — and extend one of IMCA’s most impressive streaks. With the victory, DeYoung has now won at least one IMCA Modified main event in each of the last 31 consecutive seasons, continuing a remarkable run that spans more than three decades. Jaycob Truemner grabbed the initial lead after a spirited battle with Jerry Hunt. A $5,000 payday awaits Saturday night’s winner, with $500 to start the feature. Friday’s preliminary night offers $1,000 to win and $150 to start.
