Test and tune is April 13, 14 at Crystal

CRYSTAL, Mich. – If it’s April, it’s the beginning of another race season at Crystal Motor Speedway. The annual test and tune sessions are set for Saturday and Sunday, April 13 and 14 from 2-5 p.m. and are open to any race machines. Admission will be $20 for the pits, but no charge to observe from the grandstands. The opening night of racing will be April 20 with IMCA Modifieds on the program for the 32nd consecutive season. Adult admission will be $12, kids ages 5-11 are $5 and pit passes are $30. Ward puts check next to Great Lakes Nationals on IMCA Modified to-win list

CRYSTAL, Mich. (Sept. 16) – The ninth time was a charm Sunday for A.J. Ward. Ward won the Great Lakes Nationals in his career ninth start at Crystal Motor Speedway’s season-ending special for IMCA Modifieds. The victory was accompanied by a check for $3,000 and a very tall trophy. “I knew we were good at the end but I didn’t know if anyone behind me was saving their tires,” Ward said, after checking the last big IMCA Modified special in Michigan off his must-win list. “We’ve been trying to win this race for a long time. It feels good to finally be able to do it.” Brenten DeYoung ended the 50-lapper in second and five-time Great Lakes Nationals king Myron DeYoung was third. CRYSTAL, Mich. (Aug. 18) – Brenten DeYoung motored up from his eighth place starting position to win the Lane Automotive IMCA Modified feature Saturday at Crystal Motor Speedway A.J. Ward and Dan Wiggins rounded out the top three.

Ward’s the winner at Crystal

CRYSTAL, Mich. (Aug. 11) – A.J. Ward got another win closer to the IMCA Modified 100 career victory milestone Saturday at Crystal Motor Speedway. The Dirt Works Race Cars Eastern Region point leader started 10th and raced to the checkers ahead of Myron DeYoung. Brady Hollenbeck rounded out the top three.

Montgomery is Modified winner at Crystal

CRYSTAL, Mich. (April 28) – After venturing to New York for his first IMCA Modified feature win of the season, A.J. Ward raced closer to home and got his second Saturday at Crystal Motor Speedway. The two-time defending Dirt Works Eastern Region champion and 2017 Crystal track king bested Brenten DeYoung and Brady Hollenbeck in the race to the checkers. Deschamp Shines in Stock Car Thriller at Nodak Speedway

(Apr. 27, 2025) — Sunoco IMCA Stock Cars took center stage at Nodak Speedway’s season opener, and the 3/8-mile “Playground of Power” delivered thrilling side-by-side action on a crisp Sunday evening. Chris Tuchscherer, the 2005 Williston Basin Stock Car champion and double-duty driver for the night, grabbed the early lead. However, two-time defending track champion Will Scheresky found a way around him by lap 4 and began pulling away before a caution slowed the field on the fifth circuit. On the restart, Gabe Deschamp — fresh off a win at Marshalltown’s Frostbuster earlier in the month — tracked down Scheresky and completed a bold move on the inside to take command on lap 6. The two would battle fiercely until another yellow interrupted the action. Deschamp nailed the restart and continued his dominance, but Mike Hagen soon emerged as a threat. (Apr. 26, 2025) — Myron DeYoung proved the high side was the fast lane at Crystal Motor Speedway, using a late-race move to claim his first Friesen Performance IMCA Modified win of the 2025 season — and extend one of IMCA’s most impressive streaks. With the victory, DeYoung has now won at least one IMCA Modified main event in each of the last 31 consecutive seasons, continuing a remarkable run that spans more than three decades. Jaycob Truemner grabbed the initial lead after a spirited battle with Jerry Hunt.
