Ten locked in for $10,000 to win Clash at the Creek IMCA Modified main event 

By Greg Aregoni FRANCIS CREEK, Wis. – Ten Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modified drivers have punched their tickets into tonight’s $10,000 to win Clash at the Creek main event at 141 Speedway. Johnny Whitman will have the pole for the 2015 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifier with Justin O’Brien to his outside. Eric Mahlik and Russ Reinwald comprise row two, Brad Lautenbach and Shawn Kilgore row three. Ward shows the way at Kossuth County

By Greg Grabianowski ALGONA, Iowa (June 18) – Tim Ward showed the way to the winner’s circle in weekly racing at Kossuth County Speedway. Using the same high line that took Ryan Watnem out to a big lead early on, Ward gained the lead with four laps left and stayed in front to the finish of an Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modified main event that ran caution-free. Watnem was second and Tad Reutzel took third. Once out in clean air, Jake Masters pulled away from the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car field for his first feature win at Algona this summer. Heath Tulp was the runner-up with Dan Hanselman taking third. Ben Schultze finally wrestled the lead away from Colby Fett and went onto the Karl Chevrolet North­ern SportMod victory, his first of the year at Kossuth County Speedway. Murray tames Modified foes at Dawson County

By Kelly Ninas LEXINGTON, Neb. (June 21) – David Murray Jr. tamed his Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modified foes in front of a capacity crowd Sunday at Dawson County Raceway. Murray worked his way through the field and took charge on the final go around. Jay Steffens led the first 19 circuits before giving way to Murray, Colton Osborn and Anthony Roth. Kyle Clough led the last two laps in winning the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature and Josh Leon­ard was promoted to the top spot when the apparent Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod winner was disqualified in post-race tech. Jacob Olmstead raced from deep in the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock field and ran in front the last four laps.

LaCrosse leads the way at Seymour

By Dave Panske SEYMOUR, Wis. (June 21) – Benji LaCrosse became the first local repeat winner in the division with his 99th career Budweiser IMCA Modified victory Sunday at Seymour Speedway. LaCrosse started outside row five and was running second to Rob Charapata by the sixth circuit. He dove to the inside for the lead on lap 14 and held off Mike Wedelstadt, already a member of the IMCA 100 career wins club, following a lap 18 restart. Travis Van Straten was half a car length faster than Brandon Czarapata in the Coors Light IMCA Stock Car main event. Point leader Jeremy Cota flew from 10th starting to first at the finish of the O’Reilly Auto Parts IMCA Northern SportMod feature.

Moede four-peats at Thunderhill Raceway 

By Edward Anschutz STURGEON BAY, Wis. (June 21) – If he spends much more time there, Marcus Moede may start get­ting his mail delivered to victory lane at Thunderhill Raceway. Moede won his fourth straight IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock feature Sunday at Sturgeon Bay. He passed Travis LuMaye for the front spot with six laps left and took the checkers ahead of Dave Schmidt, who rallied after an early spin. Tyler Hackett maintained a streak of his own, leading every lap and winning for the third straight time in the Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modifieds. Shawn Havel repeated in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Jacob Zellner was the Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod winner. Inducted into the Thunderhill Raceway Hall of Fame during the evening were Wally Massart, Dar­rell Massart, Reggie Cochart, Jerry Jonet and George Henkel.

VERNON HILLS, Ill. – Drivers in the Deery Brothers Summer Series and four IMCA divisions receive a combi­nation of product and product certificate awards again this season courtesy of R2C Performance Products. Gemmill, McCarty double up at Tri-State

By Rob Nugent POCOLA, Okla.  (June 20) – Ageless wonder Van Gemmill returned to his winning ways Saturday at Tri-State Speedway. Gemmill’s Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modified victory was his second locally this season. Shawn Walsh was runner-up while Travis Johnson crossed the finish line in third. Kyle Woody picking up his first IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature win of the year ahead of former winner Jay Anderson and Justin Johnson. The IMCA SportMod feature saw Ken McCarty pick up his second win of the season. Logan Ellis and Gerry Vaughn completed the top three.

Meyer leads flag to flag at IMCA Northern SportMod Nationals

BRITT, Iowa (June 23)  – Even though he’d led the first 15 laps, Nick Meyer’s crew was sure they could make his car even faster for the second half of Tuesday’s MaxY­ield Seed IMCA Northern SportMod Nationals at Hancock County Speedway. After changing four tires, tightening the car up and topping off the tank during the mandatory pit stop at midway, Meyer proved them right. He led to the checkers and took home a check for $3,500. “We won on opening night at Spring Nationals in Beatrice and that was big, but this win is bigger,” said Meyer. “It’s definitely my biggest win money-wise.” Eighth in the special for Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods in 2013 and seventh last summer, Meyer started the 30-lapper from outside row one.
