Reimers Outduels Suckow in Epic SportMod Showdown at Boone

By Ben Deatherage BOONE, Iowa (April 5, 2025) — Cam Reimers emerged victorious in a back-and-forth battle with Cole Suckow to win Saturday’s 20-lap Karl Chevrolet IMCA Northern SportMod feature during the Iowa Frostbuster at “Iowa’s Action Track,” Boone Speedway. Suckow, the defending Independence Motor Speedway champion, led early after a tight duel with 2023 Harris Clash winner Reimers. The two traded the top spot multiple times through the middle portion of the race while navigating lapped traffic. A late caution with eight laps to go set up a dramatic finish. Luinenburg Wins Wild Stock Car Showdown at Marshalltown Frostbuster

By Ben Deatherage MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa (Apr. 4, 2025) — Justin Luinenburg held off a pair of heavyweights in a dramatic finish to win the 25-lap Sunoco IMCA Stock Car feature at Marshalltown Speedway in the opening round of the 2025 Frostbuster series. The Reading, Minnesota, driver, a three-time Murray County Speedway track champion and 2015 Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stock National titleholder, fought off Maguire DeJong early and then survived a three-wide duel in the final corner. Three-time Marshalltown Stock Car titlist Steve Meyer gave chase early while Kelly Shryock worked into third in the Mike Hauan-owned Lake Mills Motorsports No. 3. DeVault Dominates for Redemption Win at Bridgeport

(Mar. 29, 2025) — Bob DeVault powered to a commanding win Saturday night in the 25-lap RaceSaver IMCA Sprint Car main event at Bridgeport Speedway, marking the second Mid-Atlantic Sprint Series event of the season. DeVault, of Alloway, New Jersey, launched into the lead from the drop of the green at the 4/10-mile “Kingdom of Speed”. Aidan Borden held off early pressure from Dave Brown while Kevin Nagy moved into third and then passed Brown, allowing both DeVault and Borden to gain distance on the field. As DeVault navigated heavy traffic, Nagy advanced into second. Borden tried to counter but couldn’t reclaim the spot. Nagy, the 2021 series champion, began to chase down the leader, but DeVault had built an impressive advantage. Janssen Dominates Maquoketa Modified Feature

By Ben Deatherage MAQUOKETA, Iowa (Mar. 29, 2025) — Drew Janssen made the most of his seat in the Rage Chassis No. 12J house car, leading all 25 laps of the Friesen Performance IMCA Modified main event at Maquoketa Speedway. After driving the Danny Meier and Trent Guest-owned No. 127 the previous night, Janssen jumped into Justin O’Brien’s ride and didn’t miss a beat. After a caution on lap two, the Pella driver checked out from the field. The battle for second was intense, featuring Spencer Diercks, California’s Troy Morris III, and Wisconsin standout Brandon Schmitt. Morris, the 2023 IMCA Wild West Speedweek champion, eventually edged ahead in the three-car fight before Schmitt clawed his way past Diercks and then Morris. Bellm Breaks Through in Thaw Brawl Stock Car Showdown

(Mar. 29, 2025) — The Sunoco IMCA Stock Car 25-lap main event capped off the second and final night of the Thaw Brawl at Aztec Speedway’s 73rd season opener, and it ended with 19-year-old Lady Eagle racer Layne Bellm collecting her first win of the year. 1997 track champion Tony Hill won the race to the front on lap one and created early separation. The battle for second heated up between Jeremy Hughes and Casey Murdoch, with Murdoch eventually winning the fight and setting his sights on Hill. Murdoch began closing the gap as Bellm, the 2023 Phillips County Raceway champion from Bloomfield, Colorado, moved into third. The race took a sudden turn when Hill slowed to a stop on lap 10, retiring to the pits and handing the lead to Murdoch. Bellm soon overtook Hughes and chased down Murdoch, executing a pass for the lead with six laps remaining. Larson, the four-time defending Maquoketa track champion, 2021 IMCA Modified National Champion, and two-time Razor Chassis North Central Region titleholder, wasted no time getting to the front. (Mar. 29, 2025) — Six-time reigning South Central Region champion William Gould put on a clinic in the Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature at Southern Oklahoma Speedway, earning his first win of 2025. Steve Askew, the 2021 South Central Region Rookie of the Year, led the opening laps until a lap 4 move by Gould in turn one put the Calera driver out front. Multiple cautions followed, but Gould stayed in command. Later, Michael Ables stormed from 18th to second and began challenging Gould in the closing laps. (Mar. 29, 2025) — Mike Ficklin Jr. of Oroville held off multiple challengers to score a hard-fought victory in the 20-lap Karl Chevrolet IMCA Northern SportMod main event at Marysville Raceway’s ¼-mile clay oval. Ficklin jumped out to the early lead before the race was slowed by a caution on lap two. On the restart, two-time California State champion Trevor Clymens made a strong run on the high side to challenge for the top spot and got around, but a yellow flag negated the pass.
