
Reimers Outduels Suckow in Epic SportMod Showdown at Boone
By Ben Deatherage BOONE, Iowa (April 5, 2025) — Cam Reimers emerged victorious in a back-and-forth battle with Cole Suckow to win Saturday’s 20-lap Karl Chevrolet IMCA Northern SportMod feature during the Iowa Frostbuster at “Iowa’s Action Track,” Boone Speedway. Suckow, the defending Independence Motor Speedway champion, led early after a tight duel with 2023 Harris Clash winner Reimers. The two traded the top spot multiple times through the middle portion of the race while navigating lapped traffic. A late caution with eight laps to go set up a dramatic finish. Reimers took the lead on lap 14, but Suckow answered a lap later. Reimers again surged ahead on lap 17, only for Suckow to reclaim it. Reimers, of Kelley, made the final pass stick coming to the white flag and held on to score his first win of the year — a redemption drive after an early exit while battling for the win the night before at Marshalltown.
