BOONE, Iowa – Nine IMCA Modified drivers make career-first starts while three former race winners look for new success in the 16th annual Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational. The twenty-eight drivers elected on Super Tuesday to start the Sept. 6 Invitational, during the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s, includes first timers Collen Winebarger of Corbett – also the first driver from Oregon elected to an All-Star race – Braxton Yeager of Green River, Wy., Jeffrey Abbey of Comanche, Texas, Larry Adams of Van Alstyne, Texas, Jeff Aikey of Cedar Falls, Tom Berry Jr. of Newburg, N.D., Tanner Black of Otis, Kan., Brad Smith of Columbia Cross Roads, Pa. and Collin Thirlby of Traverse City, Mich. Shawano Races for a Reason Saturday night

By Dave Buss SHAWANO, Wis. (July 27) – There a couple of nights where the action on the track takes second stage to the events going on at the track. On Saturday, Racing for a Reason took center stage as the amazing fans and race teams at Shawano Speedway worked together to raise money for the fight against childhood cancer. Mark Weisnicht grabbed the lead from his front row starting spot and never give it up on his way to an $800 IMCA Modified payday. Marcus Yarie moved into second and kept the pressure on to the finish but not have enough to get around Weisnight. Lucas Lamberies came from the 12th starting spot to grab third with Jason Czarapata and Lance Arneson scored next. IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars hit the track with Kurt Olson grabbing the early lead. Arnold Motor Supply Dirt Knights Tour gets top billing at Kossuth County Fair

ALGONA, Iowa – The Arnold Motor Supply Dirt Knights Tour returns to Kossuth County Speedway for top billing at the Thursday, Aug. 1 county fair show. Traveling IMCA Modifieds run for $1,500 to win, plus a 2020 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot berth. IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods all run for $1,000 to win and Mach-1 Sport Compacts complete the program at Algona. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, regional and E3 Spark Plus Iowa State points will be awarded. Track points are also at stake for the Stock, Hobby, SportMod and Sport Compact divisions. (July 27) – Ken Duke Jr. capped a perfect racing weekend with a late pass for the lead and his second straight hometown victory in Saturday’s 20-lap Pennsylvania Sprint Series feature at Selinsgrove Speedway. The Selinsgrove IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car win followed Duke’s victory Friday at Clinton County Motor Speedway and was his seventh of the year in PASS competition; he also has won with the Laurel Highlands Sprint Series. “The track didn’t slick off quite as much as I thought it would for the feature,” Duke said in victory lane, “so we were a little tight at the beginning, but the longer we ran, the better we got. Aug. 23 is deadline for Super Nationals pit stall reservations

BOONE, Iowa – Pit stall reservations for the 37th annual IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s must be made by noon on Friday, Aug. 23. Modified, Stock Car, Hobby Stock and Northern SportMod drivers must be pre-entered before they make pit stall reservations. Pit stalls at Boone Speedway are $100 and must be reserved online. In the event a driver does not show up as scheduled, their pit stall will be issued to another driver. A waiting list will be started for overflow and drivers who cannot be accommodated will receive refunds. Pit stall reservations are not required for Late Models and Sport Compacts, which are both one-day programs. Estes best in Stock Car thriller at Bethany

By Rick Staley BETHANY, Mo. (July 27) – Jason Estes held off a succession of challengers to take the $1,262 IMCA Sunoco Stock Car checkers Saturday at Bethany Speedway. After showing plenty of speed in winning his heat race, Estes motored into the lead and stayed in front to the checkers. Mike Van Genderen bounced back from a foray through the infield to finish second. Van Genderen has drawn the pole start with J.J. Baumli, winner of Friday’s Joe Crist Memorial Shootout event at US 36 Raceway on the outside. Van Genderen took the initial lead with Baumli challenging every inch of the way. IMCA RaceSaver Sprints featured on opening night of Front Row Challenge

OSKALOOSA, Iowa – IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars return to Southern Iowa Speedway and the Front Row Challenge special on Monday, Aug. 5, running for $1,000 to win. A minimum of $100 will be paid to start and IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National and E3 Spark Plugs Iowa State points will be awarded for the Badger Steel-sponsored event. There is no entry fee; pit passes are $40 and drivers must compete with a Schoenfeld/Knoxville muffler. Heat race winners and the ‘B’ feature winner(s) all receive product prizes. Baumli dominates Joe Crist Memorial Stock Car Shootout

Baumli showed competitors from Missouri, Kansas, Iowa and Nebraska the fast way around the oval in winning US 36 Raceway’s third annual Joe Crist Memorial Shootout for IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars. Baumli drove away from the field following a restart late in the 30-lapper to pick up the $1,262 winner’s check. Polesitter Thomas Roberts had taken the early lead and paced the first several laps. Baumli worked the bottom of the track before settling into second. After an early caution, Baumli showed his dominance when he perfected the restart and took the lead away from Roberts. Multiple drivers had chances to move around Baumli but his restarts were too strong as the leader put several car lengths between his competitors each time the green flag came back out. Roberts, Travis Barker and Brad Whitney all had attempts from the second position on restarts and none could figure out how to match Baumli. Friday’s IMCA Modified Blowout at US 36 pays $1,500 to win

OSBORN, Mo. – As the season starts to come to a close with only two points nights remaining, US 36 Raceway has a lot going on this Friday, Aug. 2. Headlining the night is the Modified Blowout presented by Lent Prints. Taylor takes home $2,000 for Ed Jordan IMCA Modified win

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (July 27) – The already much-accomplished Jeff Taylor raced to a couple career firsts Saturday at I-30 Speedway. Taylor gained the lead early and led the rest of the way, holding off Tyler Stevens following a late restart to win the seventh annual Ed Jordan Memorial IMCA Modified main event. “I’ve won qualifiers and heat races here before but this was the first feature I’ve won at Little Rock,” Taylor said following the $2,000, 2020 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifying victory. “It seems like the last four or five races we were always one spot short and could never pull it off.” J.T Goodson, Clay Norris and Drew Armstrong rounded out the top five.
