Duke prevails at Path Valley for third straight PASS win

SPRING RUN, Pa. (April 13) – Ken Duke Jr. preserved his 2019 Pennsylvania Sprint Series winning streak Saturday night, winning the 20-lap feature race at Path Valley Speedway more than four tenth’s of a second over Doug Dodson.  The Selinsgrove racer has now captured all three IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car features run so far, but this was hardly an easy win. With 21 of the 22 sprinters on hand making the call for the feature, traffic was an incessant issue on the wide Path Valley quarter mile.  Mike Alleman grabbed the early lead but just as the leaders were moving into heavy traffic, a lap seven caution bunched the field. MANDAN, N.D. – Kupper Chevrolet has again renewed its contract as title sponsor for the Dakota Classic Tour for IMCA Modifieds and IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars. CLEAR LAKE, Iowa – Drivers in IMCA’s North Central Region for Modifieds enjoy the support of Side Biter Chassis for a third consecutive season. The Clear Lake, Iowa, chassis builder returns as title sponsor of the region encompassing tracks in Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota, Saskatchewan, South Dakota and Wisconsin. Deery Series returns to Cedar County Raceway for opening night

TIPTON, Iowa – The Deery Brothers Summer Series returns to Cedar County Raceway for another opening night show this Saturday. The April 20 event marks the second time in as many years that the IMCA Late Model tour has started its season at Tipton, where defending champion Justin Kay of Wheatland has won the last four series events.  That equals a feat accomplished by just one other driver through the series’ first 32 years. Mark Burgtorf of Quincy, Ill., won four straight Deery features at Lee County Speedway from 1998-2000. Saturday’s feature pays $2,000 to win and a minimum of $300 to start. Dubuque Deery date rescheduled for April 28

DUBUQUE, Iowa (April 15) – The new date for the Deery Brothers Summer Series show at Dubu­que Speedway is Sunday, April 28. Postponed from April 14, the main event for touring IMCA Late Mod­els pays $2,500 to win and a minimum of $300 to start and headlines the Hershel Roberts/Ray Guss Sr. Memorial program originally scheduled last Saturday at Maquoketa Speedway.  The April 13 show lost to low temperatures will not be rescheduled. Also running at Dubuque will be IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Stock Cars, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods for national, regional, state and track points, along with a local 4-cylinder class. VINTON, Iowa – Three more IMCA Modified drivers have raced their way onto the ballot for the upcoming Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational.  Marlyn Seidler was the feature winner at Batesville Motor Speedway’s Arkansas Spring Nationals and Chris Swenson took the checkers at I-37 Speedway’s Dirt Kings event. Crawford County Speedway opens with April 19, 20 Spring Fling

DENISON, Iowa – Five IMCA divisions race both nights at Crawford County Speedway’s season-opening April 19 and 20 Spring Fling. Friday and Saturday main events for IMCA Modifieds and IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars pay $850 to win while IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods both race for $500 to win. Top prize both nights for the Mach-1 Sport Compacts is $200.  IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, regional and E3 Spark Plugs State points, but no track points will be awarded at each program. Practice starts at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 18 and a complimentary meal is included with the purchase of a pit pass. Hot laps are at 7 p.m. with racing to follow Friday. Six p.m. hot laps precede racing on Saturday.  Spectator admission is $15 for adults, $10 for seniors, students and military with ID, and free for kids ages five and under. Worrell wins at Shenandoah Virginia Sprint Series opener

(April 13) – Opening night for the Virginia Sprint Series was a pavement race at the beautiful Shenandoah Speedway and when it was over Glenn Worrell was first to the finish line. Saturday’s feature-only event for IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars had Bill Rice and Charlie Ware on the point with Rice out first. Jerald Harris, Worrell and Mike Keeton were all together at the front behind Rice.  Rice was smooth lap after lap while Harris was under pressure from Worrell as his car was start­ing to go away. Worrell went low and got by Rice as Harris found himself dealing with Keeton for third.  Laps were winding down and Worrell and Keeton kept the pressure on with Worrell the first to get un­der Rice for the lead as Keeton went to third. Keeton worked on Rice and got by for second but time ran out before he could mount a chal­lenge.
