(May 18, 2024) – Yreka Speedway capped off its doubleheader weekend with Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds and Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods filling the Saturday night card and put on some incredible racing. The Northern SportMods witnessed a nail-biting main event. Gabriel Chavez engaged in a fierce battle for the lead with Austin Petray and hometown hero Bo Crebs right from the start before Petray and Crebs tangled and were forced to retire early. Back to green, Chavez was under heavy fire from Steven Sanders, who beat him at the line in a mad dash for first place to pace the field for the second circuit. County fair checkers are IMCA first for Connelly

(May 18, 2024) – Antioch Speedway fans were treated to two nights of racing during the annual Contra Costa County Fair with Saturday offered a trio of exciting IMCA sanctioned races. This included the first win for Dylan Connelly in the Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMod main event, Kellen Chadwick in the Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds and Travis Dutra in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars. Connelly had come close on multiple occasions during the previous two IMCA SportMod seasons. On Saturday, he refused to let any of the yellow flag situations cost him a well-earned win. Connelly took the lead from Kelly Campanile with a turn four pass on the second lap. Jason Ryan Jr. quickly settled into second. Fred Ryland settled into third on the fourth lap but he spun for a lap six yellow flag. Towns dominates in IMCA Modified triumph at Cottage Grove

By Ben Deatherage COTTAGE GROVE, Ore. (May 18, 2024) – Cottage Grove Speedway was abuzz with excitement on Saturday, May 18 for Armed Forces Night, a special event presented by Shriner’s. When the Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds took to the track for their finale, Curtis Towns made the most of his front row starting position. Known for his quick starts, Towns shot off like a cannon and stayed in control despite an early caution. An early caution slowed things down but couldn’t dampen the intense competition. Defending Oregon State champion Carter Patterson pushed hard to overtake Towns couldn’t quite find a way to the front and the leader continued to pull away. This intensified the second-place race as Jake Mayden battled hard with Patterson. Mayden eventually obtained the runner-up spot and then began to chase down Towns despite a big gap separating the two. Davenport Speedway beefs up IMCA Modified payday this Friday

DAVENPORT, Iowa (May 21, 2024) – Scott County Cattlemen will do the grilling and Friesen Performance IMCA Modified drivers will do the racing for $1,000 to win this Friday night at Davenport Speedway. The cattlemen’s association sponsors the May 24 race program, which sees SLMR Super Late Models on the holiday weekend card along with the Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods. Purse for the Modified main event tops $9,000. The winner also becomes eligible to qualify for the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational while the runner-up earns $800, 10th place pays $400 and taking the green flag is good for $100. Tow money is $75. Modifieds are draw/redraw and their entry fee is $30. Legg led Tyler Jackson, Thomas Etherton and Jeremy Down in taking the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car checkers at America’s Home Track. “I won a lot of races in a SportMod here and then quit racing after 2015. Bittner wins after Reed dominates at Hagerstown

By Jim Haines HAGERSTOWN, Md. (May 18, 2024) – Timmy Bittner was in the right place at the right time. Austin Reed was not, in the Saturday feature race at Hagerstown Speedway co-sanctioned by the Virginia Sprint Series and the Laurel Highlands Sprint Series. With rain outs in the area everywhere, 35 IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars signed in to the smooth fast oval and the feature line up was led by Ken Duke and Kenny Heffner. As the field went green, out front like a rocket was Reed, who started to pull away lap after lap, leaving Duke, Heffner and Bittner to fight over the runner-up spot. Reed was not going to be caught as the laps were winding down, with Bittner making his way to second, Heffner in third and Josh Spicer and Duke acing for fourth. Uehling rules Off Road IMCA Hobby Stock feature

(May 18, 2024) – Half a car length made the difference between a W and second-place in Saturday’s IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock feature at Off Road Speedway. In the closest race of the night, Uehling edged Jason Wilkinson at the flag stand by a half-car length for a win. Uehling, who started on the outside of row one, led all 15 laps with Wilkinson in pursuit the entire race. The pair repeatedly pulled away from the field, even following a caution with just six laps remaining, and Wilkinson increased the pressure each of the final trips around the track. Wilkinson closed the gap coming out of turn four the last time around, then pulled alongside Uehling briefly on the backstretch but would get no closer than Uehling’s door as the cars passed the flag stand. ELMA, Wash. (May 20, 2024) – IMCA drivers will race for a couple nice paydays, then they’ll sit back and enjoy one of the best fireworks displays in the Pacific Northwest at Grays Harbor Raceway’s May 25 and 26 Modified Clash. The Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature on Saturday pays $2,000 to win, the Sunday main event $2,500 to win before the fireworks show brings an end to the Memorial Weekend event.
