MECHANICSBURG, Pa. (May 29, 2026) — Normally, the story of a River Valley Builders PA Sprint Series race isn’t dependent on what happened in another division, but Friday night at Williams Grove Speedway was an exception.

Cole Dewease of Fayetteville led every lap of the RaceSaver IMCA Sprint Car feature to earn his first career PASS victory. Less than 30 minutes earlier, his father, legendary sprint car racer Lance Dewease, had also led every lap to win the night’s 410 Sprint Car feature.

Father and son joined one another in both victory lane celebrations, making for a memorable evening at the historic half-mile oval.

The younger Dewease’s PASS triumph came in only his seventh series start. He entered the night with a pair of PASS top-five finishes and already owned a Laurel Highlands Sprint Series victory earned May 1 at Bedford Fairgrounds Speedway.

After enduring poor luck in feature redraws throughout the season, Dewease finally caught a break Friday night by drawing the pole position. From there, it was a matter of out-dragging Croix Beasom of Mifflintown for the early lead and then holding off veteran Chris Meleason of Carlisle on the race’s lone restart aboard the No. 61D.

The margin of victory was 3.283 seconds, built over the final six laps of the 20-lap feature after the event’s only caution.

Meleason recorded his best PASS finish since returning to the series after more than two decades away and finished second.

Croix Beasom completed the podium in third. Zach Rhodes advanced from ninth to fourth, while Ken Duke Jr. charged from 12th to fifth to earn Hard Charger honors. Erin Statler also posted a notable run, moving from 20th to 13th.

Three-time PASS champion and 2019 RaceSaver IMCA Sprint Car national champion Duke also set quick time in hot laps before drawing the deepest starting position among the feature contenders.

Tyler Brehm, Chris Dolan, and Rhodes captured heat race victories over the 28-car field, which included competitors from the Mid Atlantic Sprint Series, Virginia Sprint Series, and Carolina Sprint Tour. Tyler Erdley won the B Feature.
