JAMESTOWN, N.D. (Aug. 21, 2025) —  The biggest racing weekend of the season in Jamestown is almost here as Jamestown Speedway hosts the 54th Annual Stock Car Stampede on Friday and Saturday, September 19-20.

Both nights will feature Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds, Karl Chevrolet IMCA Northern SportMods, and Sunoco IMCA Stock Cars headlining the Stampede. Race time is set for 7:00 p.m. on Friday and 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, with the format to follow the successful programs run in recent years. Fans unable to attend in person can watch both nights live on IMCA TV affiliate Dacotah Speedway TV.

This year’s Stampede features a lucrative purse structure. IMCA Modifieds race for $3,054 to win and $250 to start, while IMCA Stock Cars and IMCA SportMods both pay $2,054 to win and $175 to start. Friday night’s program on September 19 will consist of heats and dash races that set the top eight feature starters, while Saturday, September 20 will see consolation events and the A Main features to determine the 2025 champions.

The Stampede has long been one of North Dakota’s marquee dirt track events, and the IMCA divisions have crowned some of the sport’s best in recent years. In the Modifieds, the most recent winners include Kollin Hibdon in 2024, Travis Tooley in 2023, and Shawn Strand in 2022. Stock Car champions have been Jonny Carter in 2024, Gabriel Deschamp in 2023, and Luke Krogh in 2022. In the SportMods, Gabriel Deschamp topped the field in 2024, following Cole Suckow’s victory in 2023 and Luke Krogh’s triumph in 2022.

Camping opens at the Jamestown Speedway grounds beginning at noon on Wednesday, September 17. Over 200 spots will be available, including more than 100 with electrical hookups and 50 with water hookups. Camping is $25 per night. Race cars may also begin lining up on the grounds at the same time, with haulers given numbers to enter the pits once gates open at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. A $10 security charge applies for the nights on the grounds prior to entering the pits.

Stampede weekend also includes special activities for fans and competitors. A cornhole tournament will be held on Thursday, September 18, free breakfast will be served in the Beer Gardens on Saturday, September 20 courtesy of the Christian Motorcycle Club, and a craft and vendor show will take place Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Striped Fair Building across from the Beer Gardens.
