DUBUQUE, Iowa (June 24) – Sunday racing action at Dubuque Speedway provided the fans with a thrilling night of action packed plenty of wheel-to-wheel action on Casey’s General Store Night at the Races.
Derek Thompson found the tacky track to his liking in scoring the 20-lap Merfeld Auto IMCA Modi­fied feature. Thompson led the most laps in taking the checkers ahead of Austin Moyer and Matt Short. 
Jason Roth won his second consecutive GSI Collision Specialists IMCA Northern SportMod main event. Roth took the point position after the midway portion of the 18-lap main and went on to cross under the flag stand ahead of Gage Neal and Troy Bauer.

$250 Sunoco bonus on tap for IMCA Late Model winner at Dubuque

VINTON, Iowa – The payday got even better for the winner of Sunday’s main event for IMCA Sunoco Late Models at Dubuque County Fairgrounds Speedway.  The third $250 Sunoco Race Fuels bonus of the season will be paid to the June 7 Late Model winner at Dubuque.  Sunoco bonuses will be presented at Late Model sanctioned tracks this year. Drivers are eligible for one bonus during the 2020 racing season. Previous winners were Jeff Aikey at Independence Motor Speedway on May 23 and Matt Ryan at 34 Raceway last Saturday night. IMCA will announce mid-week before the dates bonuses are to be awarded at each track.  Grandstand seating is now open, and fans will also have the opportunity to watch the night’s racing action by logging on to IMCA.tvor affiliate DoneRight.tv. The live streaming service will carry a one-time charge and will not require a membership.  Hot laps are scheduled to take to the track at 5:30 p.m. with racing to follow.

Garnhart speeds to Smokey Rupp Memorial win

By Rob Hinckley DUBUQUE, Iowa (June 9) – Bryce Garnhart thought he would settle for second. Then the yellow light flashed in front of him due to the leader crashing. The defending track champion put the pedal down on the restart and cruised to the 25-lap Smokey Rupp Memorial Merfeld Brothers IMCA Modified win Sunday at Dubuque Speedway. The $1,000 victory put him on the ballot for the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational. “I know it was bad for him, but it made me happy,” Garnhart said in Hoker Trucking / C&W Truck­ing/Kam Koncepts Victory Circle. “Car ran great and I can’t thank everyone enough that works on this and supports us.” Hometown driver Austin Moyer helped lead the field to John Ryan’s green flag and quickly opened a large advantage. Maquoketa, Dubuque Deery events postponed

MAQUOKETA, Iowa (April 13) – Forecasts calling for less than pleasant temperatures Saturday and Sunday have resulted in postponements of Deery Brothers Summer Series events at Maquoketa Speedway and at Dubuque Speedway. Both IMCA Late Model tour events are to be rescheduled. The 33rd annual Deery Series now opens at Cedar County Raceway in Tipton with a $2,000 to win, minimum $300 to start main event next Saturday, April 20.  Pit gates open at 4 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 5 p.m.  Hot laps are at 6:30 p.m. with racing at 7 p.m. Spectator admission is $18 for adults, $15 for seniors and students and free for kids ages 12 and under when accompanying a paid adult.
