Thompson, Roth are IMCA winners at Dubuque

DUBUQUE, Iowa (June 24) – Sunday racing action at Dubuque Speedway provided the fans with a thrilling night of action packed plenty of wheel-to-wheel action on Casey’s General Store Night at the Races.

Derek Thompson found the tacky track to his liking in scoring the 20-lap Merfeld Auto IMCA Modified feature. Thompson led the most laps in taking the checkers ahead of Austin Moyer and Matt Short.

Jason Roth won his second consecutive GSI Collision Specialists IMCA Northern SportMod main event. Roth took the point position after the midway portion of the 18-lap main and went on to cross under the flag stand ahead of Gage Neal and Troy Bauer.

Sunoco bonuses awarded at Independence, Dubuque this weekend

INDEPENDENCE, Iowa (June 1, 2023) – Sunoco Race Fuels bonuses will be awarded when IMCA Late Models hit the track for big events this weekend at Independence Motor Speedway and at Dubuque Fairgrounds Speedway. The divisional title sponsor awards $250 bonuses to feature winners on Saturday, June 3 during the Hall of Fame Night show at Indee and Sunday, June 4 on Fan Appreciation Night at Dubuque. Drivers can get the bonus one time in a season; the $250 will be awarded to the top finishing non-winning driver any night the winner has previously received the bonus. Hot laps are at 6:30 p.m. with racing to follow Saturday at Independence, where pit passes are $30 for adults, $15 for kids ages 6-14 and free for five and under. Hurst hoists winner’s trophy at Dubuque

By Rob Hinckley DUBUQUE, Iowa (May 12) – He tried high and low. The latter worked in the end for Jeremiah Hurst. The Dubuque ace slid by early leader Terry Neal after a caution and won the 25-lap Eichman’s Bar and Grill IMCA Late Model season opener Sunday evening at Dubuque Speedway. “They (his crew) were down at the turn waving me to stay low and it worked,” the defending national champion said from Hoker Trucking Victory Lane. “The car was great. The track was great. It was a special night.” The track, under new promoter Trackside Promotions, finally got the opener on the fifth try due to bad weather through April and first weekend of May. $250 Sunoco bonus on tap for IMCA Late Model winner at Dubuque

VINTON, Iowa – The payday got even better for the winner of Sunday’s main event for IMCA Sunoco Late Models at Dubuque County Fairgrounds Speedway. The third $250 Sunoco Race Fuels bonus of the season will be paid to the June 7 Late Model winner at Dubuque. Sunoco bonuses will be presented at Late Model sanctioned tracks this year. Drivers are eligible for one bonus during the 2020 racing season. Previous winners were Jeff Aikey at Independence Motor Speedway on May 23 and Matt Ryan at 34 Raceway last Saturday night. IMCA will announce mid-week before the dates bonuses are to be awarded at each track. Grandstand seating is now open, and fans will also have the opportunity to watch the night’s racing action by logging on to IMCA.tvor affiliate DoneRight.tv. Bakersfield Speedway Season Opener Shifts to One-Day Winter Clash Saturday

(Feb. 19, 2026) — Bakersfield Speedway at Kevin Harvick’s Kern Raceway will launch its 2026 campaign with the Winter Clash, now scheduled as a one-day event on Saturday, Feb. 21, following wet weather throughout the week. Originally planned as a two-day program, all Friday racing activities have been consolidated into Saturday, creating a full night of racing for one ticket price. Competition will feature Karl Kustoms IMCA Modifieds, Karl Kustoms IMCA Northern SportMods, and Sunoco IMCA Stock Cars, with all divisions competing for championship points. Grandstand gates open at 2 p.m., with hot laps and qualifying set for 2:45 p.m. Opening ceremonies are scheduled for approximately 5 p.m., followed by heat races and main events for all classes. Hunt The Front Revives Southern Raceway and Launches New Era

(Feb. 18, 2026) — Southern Raceway is entering a new era as the Hunt The Front group has officially acquired the 3/8-mile clay oval in Milton, Florida, launching a revitalization effort that will see the venue operate as Hunt The Front’s Southern Raceway. The ownership group — brothers Jonathan, Joshua, and Joseph Joiner and their wives Shadow, Elizabeth, and Kayla — makes the project a true family-driven endeavor. A centerpiece of the track’s competitive foundation will remain the Karl Kustoms IMCA Modified division, continuing a sanctioning relationship that dates back more than three decades.
