Trenchard triumphs at Haudenshild Tribute

WHITE CITY, Ore. (June 2) – After taking the lead from Preston Jones early in the race, Nick Trenchard went on to victory in the 25-lap IMCA Modified main event Saturday at Southern Oregon Speedway.

This was the sixth annual Roger Haudenshild Tribute race and the win paid $2,000 to Trenchard, new to the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot. It was also his third win in the big event.

Jones paced just one lap before Trenchard made an outside pass to gain the lead. On the third lap, Albert Gill took second and Duane Orsburn made his way to third.

By then, Trenchard was a straightaway in the lead, leaving behind him a good battle between Gill and Orsburn for second. Trenchard was working lapped traffic and in command when the caution flew on lap 11. Orsburn worked his way to second following the second restart.

Trenchard set a rapid pace and soon had a straightaway advantage. The man making the charge was Dave Duste Jr., who had fifth on the last restart and took fourth from Jones on lap 17.

Orsburn did a good job of handling the pressure in the battle for second, but Gill made a low pass on lap 22 to regain the position. Trenchard was never seriously threatened in posting an impressive victory.

Gill was a strong second and Orsburn spun on the final lap as he was battling Duste for third. Duste claimed the third position, followed by Zach Fettinger and Jones.

Trenchard added $200 to his total by winning the special 11-lap Crack The Whip race.

Fred Ryland was the Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod feature winner. Justin McCreadie topped Crack The Whip.

Additional purse money was sponsored by the Haudenshild Family and Dusty’s Transmissions of Central Point.

Ryan Peery sweeps IMCA Pacific SportMod Showdown

By Ben Deatherage WHITE CITY, Ore. (July 24) – Southern Oregon Speedway wrapped up the IMCA Pacific SportMod Showdown on Saturday for Dusty’s Transmission Night. The 40-lap, $2,500 to win feature had 41 Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods on hand. When the green flag flew for the main event, Travis Peery, took control of the top spot to lead the opening lap. However, it was a short-lived reign as his son Ryan, winner from the previous night at White City, seized control by lap three. Travis rebounded to edge out Ryan on lap four. Unfortunately, due to a caution, the pass was nullified, handing back the position to Ryan Peery. Six more stoppages were to be had for the rest of the race resulting in heavy lapped traffic being taken out of the picture but restarts even more critical. Haudenshild Tribute IMCA Modified win is ‘something special’ for DeBenedetti

Jon DeBenedetti was in and out of the lead before taking the $2,000 checkers at Southern Oregon Speedway’s eighth annual Roger Haudenshild Tribute. The new Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifier had put an engine purchased out of a car that Haudenshild had sponsored into his own ride just the day before. “We put it in Friday and won with it on Saturday. Trenchard Charges from 10th for Southern Oregon Modified Triumph

(May 16, 2026) — Brett Provost and Albert Gill Jr. led the field to green in the $1,000-to-win Karl Kustoms IMCA Modified feature Saturday night at Southern Oregon Speedway. Gill jumped out to the early lead and paced the opening five laps before Ethan Killingsworth took over the top spot with a slider in turn two. A caution one lap later for debris slowed the field, but Killingsworth quickly rebuilt his advantage on the restart. Behind him, an intense three-wide battle for second unfolded between Matt Sanders, Nick Trenchard, and Ryan Peery. Trenchard eventually worked past Sanders and Peery to move into the runner-up position. Killingsworth held a commanding lead until Hudson Shoemaker spun on the backstretch exiting turn two, bringing out another caution with 10 laps remaining. Jake Dimond Memorial Pays $5,000 to Win June 19 at Black Hills Speedway

(June 11, 2026) — One of the richest Karl Kustoms IMCA Modified events in the region comes to Black Hills Speedway on Friday, June 19, as the inaugural Jake Dimond Memorial takes center stage with a $5,000 winner’s share awaiting the victor. The special event will feature a 30-lap Karl Kustoms IMCA Modified main event paying $5,000 to win and $2,250 for second. Third place pays $1,500, fourth receives $1,000, and fifth earns $750. Huish Collects Third Bullring Nationals Crown at Rush County Speedway

(June 5, 2026) — A near-capacity crowd filled the grandstands Friday night at Rush County Speedway for the Myers Racing Engines Bullring Nationals, where Jeremy Huish captured his third career Bullring Nationals crown in United Rebel Sprint Series competition. The United Rebel Sprint Series headlined the evening with a 35-lap feature showcasing many of the region’s top RaceSaver IMCA Sprint Car competitors. Huish started from the pole and battled Jordan Knight during the opening stages before executing a decisive slider in turns one and two with 17 laps remaining to take command. (June 11, 2026) — One of the premier Karl Kustoms IMCA Modified events in the Devilbiss Racing Chassis Western Region returns to Gallatin Speedway on June 26-27 as the fourth annual MODtana Madness brings two nights of racing and a $5,000 winner’s payday to the Montana facility.
