Maupin Masters Texana Raceway Park for STIMS Modified Win

EDNA, Texas (Mar. 14, 2026) — The Southern Touring IMCA Modified Series presented by On Demand Shirts served up another helping of incredible racing at Texana Raceway Park. 25 Karl Kustoms IMCA Modifieds signed in for the $1,000 to win, 20-lap main event.

Jared Maupin made a statement early by taking the win in DIY Equipment Sales and Rental Heat One over Steven Whiteaker Jr., Sundowner Performance Diesel Heat Two would go to Ryan Doyon, with Steven Whiteaker III finishing second in only his second IMCA Modified start. Cody Leonard scored the win in 3-D Landscaping and Irrigation Heat Three with Johnny Torres coming second.

A full field lined up for the feature ready to thrill the Texana fans once more. Maupin and Leonard set the pace early with Whiteaker Jr. close behind. Cautions would ultimately slow the field three times, but Maupin led all 20 laps in the Rick Pollaro-provided no. 96 on the way to his first STIMS victory in 2026 as well as his first in the GRT Race Cars South Central Region for the season. The victory also put him on the eligibility list to try and qualify for the Fast Shafts All-Star Modified Invitational to be run at this September’s Speedway Motors IMCA Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s.

Torres, Dylan Blackburn, Ryan Slott, and Leonard rounded out the top five. “The Handyman” Chris Morris won the Mike Terry Motorsports Hard Charger Award, finishing ninth from his 15th starting spot.

Car counts, racing, even T-shirt sales good at start of South Texas IMCA Modified Series

Fans ready to welcome IMCA STARS Mod Lites to Texana Raceway Park

EDNA, Texas – IMCA STARS Mod Lites can look forward to a warm welcome from fans at Texana Raceway Park. The division makes its debut on the 5/16-mile dirt oval at Edna and runs along with IMCA Modifieds on every weekly program beginning with opening night March 6. The IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing season championship night is scheduled for Sept. 25. “We had a local mod lite class with rules that were similar to STARS the last three or four years. We like the competition and entertainment value. South Texas IMCA Modified Series Ready for Sophomore Season

SAN ANTONIO (Mar. 14, 2025) — Race fans, get ready — the South Texas IMCA Modified Series is back for an action-packed second season in 2025! Ten races at five Lone Star State tracks are scheduled, starting March 28 at Heart O’ Texas Speedway near Waco, followed by I-37 Speedway in Pleasanton on March 29. Chris Morris is the defending champion. “Texas has a strong group of (Friesen Performance) IMCA Modified drivers,” said series director Kevin Rogers. “I look forward to showcasing their talent in the upcoming season at these awesome facilities we will travel to.” Each race will pay at least $1,000 to win and $100 to start, with increased payouts for higher car counts.
