ARDMORE, Okla. (Oct. 4, 2025) — The Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds headlined Saturday’s Jordan Page Winter Nationals finale at Southern Oklahoma Speedway, where Locust Grove, Arkansas, veteran Jeff Taylor stormed from seventh starting to win the 30-lap, $2,500-to-win feature — his third victory of the season in the GRT Race Cars South Central Region, all coming at the Ardmore 3/8-mile clay oval.
2013 IMCA National Champion William Gould jumped out to the early advantage aboard the Kenny Fryer Motorsports no. 60 and built a comfortable lead before traffic and cautions began to reel him back in. A fierce mid-race fight developed for second between two-time Abilene Speedway track champion Vince Ogle, Tate Butler, and Taylor. Butler eventually secured the runner-up spot and began reeling in Gould as the leaders hit lapped traffic with 13 circuits remaining.
Taylor, the 2012 Speedway Motors IMCA Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s champion, methodically picked his way forward, ripping the top groove to join the battle up front. Following a caution with 12 laps to go, Butler momentarily edged ahead at the restart, but Gould countered and regained control. The trio raced door-to-door until Taylor found the cushion and swept around Gould on lap 23, driving away to take the checkered flag and the Jordan Page Winter Nationals crown.
Gould held on for second, followed by three-time Florida State Modified champion Owen Barnhill in third. Butler and Chad Reid completed the top five. With the win, Taylor becomes eligible for the 2026 Fast Shafts All-Star Modified Invitational, to be contested at next year’s Speedway Motors IMCA Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s.
Starry Shines in Stock Cars
The Sunoco IMCA Stock Cars brought the crowd to its feet in a 25-lap, $1,000-to-win feature, where 20-year-old Cameron Starry of Corpus Christi, Texas stormed from fifth to victory lane.
Early leader Brandon Gritz, the 2024 Southern Oklahoma Speedway track champion, set the pace before double-duty runner Gould powered around him on the backstretch. Gritz quickly battled back, but two-time EQ Cylinder Heads Southern Region champion Blake Clark soon moved past to take over on lap five.
After a lap-eight caution, Starry — the 2024 Dakota Classic Tour Stock Car champion — methodically closed the gap, making his move to the front on lap 12. Once there, he checked out from the field and withstood a late caution to secure the commanding win. Clark, Gould, Lance Hanson Jr., and Hesston Shaw completed the top five. Starry’s triumph also makes him eligible for the 2026 B&B Racing Chassis All-Star Stock Car Invitational at next year’s Super Nationals.
Capps Cruises to SportMod Supremacy
The Smiley’s Racing Products IMCA Southern SportMods capped their weekend off with a 25-lap, $1,500-to-win feature, where Landon Capps of Anna, Texas dominated from start to finish. The win was his second of the season at Southern Oklahoma Speedway and first since March 15.
Capps controlled every restart after a handful of early cautions, hugging the bottom groove while Tyler Malone worked the high side in pursuit. Brayden Wyatt ran a steady third, followed by Jeff Welborn and hometown racer Case Penrod in fourth and fifth, respectively.
