Veloz Storms from Eighth for Davenport Late Model Victory; Ryan Secures Sixth Track Title

DAVENPORT, Iowa (Aug. 22, 2025) — Logan Veloz picked up his fourth Sunoco IMCA Late Model win of the season at Davenport Speedway, charging from eighth starting to the lead by lap five. Once in front, the Colona, Illinois chauffeur was untouchable the rest of the way. The victory was Veloz’s 11th overall this year, with four of those coming at Davenport.

Matt Ryan came from the sixth row to earn a hard-fought second with a last-lap pass, while Nathan Balensiefen ran inside the top five all night before settling for third. Ryan capped the night by clinching his sixth Davenport Late Model track championship.

Eckrich Breaks Through for First Davenport Modified Win; Diercks Edges Title Battle

Jace Eckrich scored his first-ever Davenport feature win in the Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds, charging from fifth starting to the lead in just six laps and never looking back. The victory also marked his first Razor Chassis North Central Region triumph.

The championship picture provided just as much drama. Spencer Diercks came into the night with a three-point advantage but had to roll off 12th. Charlie Mohr surged to second early, temporarily taking over the virtual point lead. Chris Zogg slipped past Mohr late, and Diercks clawed his way to fourth, enough to reclaim the advantage and earn his first track championship.

Mullen Masters SportMods for Second Win; Heath Crowned Champion

The Karl Chevrolet IMCA Northern SportMod feature produced three different leaders in 15 laps. Rance Powell set the early pace before Kevin Goben took over on lap five. Midway through the race, Rayce Mullen powered to the front and never gave it back, collecting his second Davenport win of the year and third overall this season.

Goben settled for second, with Tony Olson finishing third. Levi Heath ran fourth and locked up the SportMod track championship.

Bennett Bests Hobby Stock Field; Wauters Earns Season Title

Matt Bennett topped the Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stocks, leading the way for his second victory of the season at Davenport. The win was also his second triumph of the year in the B&B Racing Chassis Northern Region.

Carson Butt was a distant runner-up, with Landon Bennett placing third. Daniel Wauters, meanwhile, claimed the Hobby Stock track championship.

Gray Grabs First Davenport Mod Lite Win of the Season; Gonzales Takes Title

The Stealth Racing IMCA STARS Mod Lites closed the program with Austin Gray of Story City, taking the feature win. Gray grabbed the lead on lap seven after early leader Alex Eischeid dropped out in a cloud of smoke. He then cruised to his first Davenport Speedway victory of the year and his 11th overall this season.

Jon Padilla ran second, with Dan Keltner in third. Blake Gonzales finished fourth, which was enough to secure the Mod Lite track championship.
