ARLINGTON, Minn. (Aug. 2, 2025) — History was made during the Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stock feature, as Cory Probst recorded his 300th career IMCA feature win with a late-race charge to victory. Early leader Dan Scharpe paced the field until a second-lap caution for Patrick Oestreich. At the same time, Chad Volk got into a tire and headed to the work area, then rejoined the field at the back. On the restart, Scott Porter controlled the high side while Probst methodically worked his way forward.

After another yellow on lap seven for Volk, Probst found momentum up top and swept past Porter to take over the point. Brad Becker made two strong bids to get under Probst in the final circuits but had to settle for second, with Porter taking third. The win was Probst’s 27th of the season in the B&B Racing Chassis Northern Region.

Gatton Goes Wire-to-Wire in Sport Compact Show

Dale Gatton led every lap of the Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compact feature. A yellow flew at the initial start due to debris in turn four, followed by another caution when the hood popped up on Jared Sloss’ car. On the next circuit, Gary Schumacher suffered a flat right rear tire and pulled off to the work area. Jason Bolte and Justin Schelitzhe also exited with issues. Gatton maintained the lead throughout as Justin Dose and Alan Lahr battled hard for second. Dose slipped high, allowing Lahr to take the spot, while Brandon Hartmann also capitalized to grab third.

It was Gatton’s fourth win of 2025, with three of those victories coming at Arlington.

Davis Breaks Through for First Northern SportMod Win

Chris Neisen led the first lap of the Karl Chevrolet IMCA Northern SportMod main before Joey Reimers overshot turn two and fell off the track. That allowed Zach Davis to seize the opportunity and take over the lead. A caution came out on lap five for a spin by the 32e. On the restart, Davis continued to lead, though Ben Reierson applied steady pressure. The two ran side-by-side often, while Jeff Carter, who advanced nine positions, closed in but was held at bay by Eric Larson late in the going. Davis held on for the win ahead of Reierson and Larson. The victory marked Davis’ first of the 2025 season.

Johnson Claims First Sprint Win of 2025

Matt Johnson paced the field from start to finish to win the RaceSaver IMCA Sprint Car feature. His closest challenger early on hit a tire and exited with front axle damage four laps in. Johnson launched well on the restart as Hannah Graf worked the corners hard trying to reel him in. With the white flag in sight, Brett Allen was in third and Bill Johnson fourth. Coming out of turn four, Allen bobbled and Bill Johnson slipped underneath to take the final podium spot. The younger Johnson would not be denied, scoring his first victory of the season. It was Johnson’s first win of the 2025 campaign.

Looft Storms from Deep in Stock Car Thriller

A full field of 20 Sunoco IMCA Stock Cars produced an action-packed feature with three different leaders. Shaun Bruns led from the front row until a caution flew four laps in for a spin by the 18 car. Dave Moriarty muscled to the front on the restart, taking the bottom while Bruns stuck to the top. Midway through the race, Jed Trebelhorn found speed on the top side and climbed to second. Dan Mackenthun then made a move on Moriarty but caught a flat tire, bringing out another caution. On the restart, Matt Looft—who had climbed 13 positions—lined up behind Moriarty. Coming out of turn four on the final lap, Moriarty slipped up just enough for Looft to power underneath and snatch the win. Moriarty and Dan Eckblad completed the top three.

Looft’s charge earned him his first Stock Car victory of the season and first of 2025 in the EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region.

Hatlestad Wins Caution-Free Modified Main

The Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature ran caution-free with three different leaders. JJ Reimers led the first lap before Chad Porter grabbed the top spot on lap two. By the third lap, a fierce battle ensued among Clint Hatlestad, Porter, and Dan Menk. Hatlestad eventually prevailed and pulled away in lapped traffic with five laps remaining. Menk maintained second and Trent Loverude took third.

The win was Hatlestad’s fourth of the season in the Razor Chassis North Central Region, all of which have come at Arlington’s ½-mile oval.
