59 New Drivers Etch Names onto 2025 All-Star Invitational Eligibility List in June and July

VINTON, Iowa (July 30, 2025) — A total of 59 new drivers etched their names onto the 2025 Fast Shafts All-Star Modified Invitational and B&B Racing Chassis All-Star Stock Car Invitational eligibility lists in June and July, strengthening what is already an impressive field of contenders. These newest additions joined the roster by winning $1,000-to-win or greater specials and are now eligible to attempt to qualify for their respective invitationals, to be held during the 2025 Speedway Motors IMCA Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s. Several previously qualified drivers also added to their All-Star résumés with more victories of their own.

In addition to the first-time qualifiers, several drivers who had already secured All-Star Invitational berths earlier in the season added to their résumés with more victories.

In the Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds, Ethan Braaksma, who first earned his All-Star berth with a January 9 victory at Central Arizona Raceway, continued to shine with three major summer wins. He topped the IMCA Summer Nationals at Clay County Fair Speedway on June 4, cashed in a $10,000 payday at 141 Speedway’s Clash at the Creek XVII on June 11, and won Hancock County Speedway’s Black Dirt Nationals on July 22.

Cayden Carter, already eligible following May qualifier victories at Stuart Speedway and 34 Raceway, returned to Marshalltown Speedway and added a June 13 win to his ledger.

Myron DeYoung, a May winner at Crystal, stayed consistent with back-to-back wins at Crystal Motor Speedway on June 7 and June 14. Tripp Gaylord, an April qualifier at Marshalltown, stayed on a roll with a win at the Summer Nationals opener at Clay County on June 2 and followed it with a July 24 victory during the Salute to Veterans Tour at Kossuth County Speedway.

Austin Harnick, who secured All-Star eligibility with February victories at Northwest Florida Speedway’s Clash On The Coast and April wins at Crystal Motor Speedway, added a fifth qualifying win on July 3 at Merritt Speedway. Kollin Hibdon, who locked in his All-Star spot with an April win at Marshalltown, added to his summer success with a June 6 win in the Topless Dirt 30 at Marshalltown and opened the Dakota Classic Tour with a July 5 win at Jamestown Speedway.

Mitchell Hunt, already eligible following a May 24 win at Crystal Motor Speedway, backed up that performance with additional victories on July 18 at Mount Pleasant Speedway and July 26 back at Crystal.

Tate Johnson, who earned his initial All-Star berth with a January 17 IMCA TV Winter Nationals win at Central Arizona Raceway, backed it up with a second qualifying victory on May 10 at Williston Basin Speedway, then during July 26 triumph at the same place. Rodney Morgan, already All-Star eligible following a September 15, 2024 win at Pennsylvania’s Clinton County Speedway, added two more NY-Penn Series qualifier victories in July — winning at Outlaw Speedway on July 25 and again the next night at Woodhull Raceway’s Sean Lias Memorial on July 26.

Jeff Reay, who secured his All-Star invitation with a pair of May wins at Crystal Motor Speedway, continued his summer surge with six more victories. He topped the June 6 feature at I-96 Speedway, captured the Thirlby Throwdown at Crystal on June 19, added checkered flags at Crystal on June 22, June 28, July 3, and July 19, and prevailed at Mount Pleasant Speedway on June 27.

Cody Thompson, who had earned his All-Star invite with a May win, returned to victory lane at Buena Vista Raceway’s Kyle Sutter Memorial on July 2 and at Park Jefferson International Speedway on July 20.

Dylan Thornton already had eligibility with victories at Central Arizona Raceway on January 15 and January 18 during the IMCA TV Winter Nationals, then added a third qualifying win at Boone Speedway during the Iowa Frostbuster on April 5. He returned to victory lane at Boone on July 26, topping the Salute to Veterans Tour. Jeff Westergard, eligible since his April win at Skagit Speedway, backed it up with another triumph there on June 14.

Bricen James secured his first Invitational berth with a victory in the June 14 IMCA Wild West Speedweek opener at Southern Oregon Speedway. He added a major second win during the summer stretch by topping the Modified Nationals at Grays Harbor Raceway on July 19.

Jeff Larson scored his first qualifying win on June 6 at Lafayette County Speedway, then returned to victory lane on July 23 at Dubuque Fairgrounds Speedway. Dakota Sproul made his mark with a June 30 victory at Clay County Fair Speedway, then backed it up with a second qualifying win on July 12 at RPM Speedway. Collin Thirlby secured his first All-Star berth during the Independence Weekend doubleheader at Merritt Speedway, collecting back-to-back wins on July 4 and 5.

In the Sunoco IMCA Stock Cars, Jimmy Gustin, already All-Star eligible following a May 13 win at Marshalltown Speedway, returned to victory lane with a second Sunoco IMCA Stock Car qualifying win at the same track on June 6.

Justin Luinenburg, who became eligible in April at Marshalltown, had a dominant summer with three Stock Car wins. He scored June 13 at Murray County Speedway, returned to victory lane at Buena Vista Raceway’s Kyle Sutter Memorial on July 2, and added another win on July 20 at Park Jefferson International Speedway.

Mike Mullen punched his All-Star ticket in June with wins at Outagamie Speedway on the 6th and 141 Speedway’s Clash at the Creek on June 11. He returned to victory lane twice in July — at Luxemburg’s Luxy Raceway on July 13 and again during the $10,000-to-win King of the Creek finale at 141 on July 17. John Oliver Jr., already All-Star eligible following a May 17 victory at 34 Raceway, returned to victory lane with a July 28 triumph at Bloomfield Speedway.

Kelly Shryock, already eligible following an April victory, built on his season resume with wins on June 2 and June 4 at Clay County Fair Speedway. He returned to Hancock County Speedway to win the Hobo Hustle on June 13 and later swept both Kossuth County Speedway and Boone Speedway’s Salute to Veterans Tour events on July 24 and 26.

Mike “Wahoo” Albertsen picked up his first All-Star qualifier win on June 6 at Crawford County Speedway, then followed with a second victory at the Mods for Mindy event on June 13.

In the Razor Chassis North Central Region for the Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds, Iowa’s Kossuth County Speedway hosts the Harken and Hovinga Memorial on July 31. Independence Motor Speedway celebrates its 60th Anniversary Night on August 2. Kossuth County returns to action on August 7 for the Schattschneider Memorial, followed by the prestigious Night of 1,000 Stars doubleheader on August 8 and 9 at Hancock County Speedway. Marshalltown Speedway holds the Dale DeFrance Memorial on August 22 and returns on August 29 with the Showdown at MoTown. Boone Speedway’s Super Nationals Tune-Up takes place on August 23.

In North Dakota, McLean County Speedway in Underwood presents the Coal County Classic doubleheader on August 1 and 2. The Monte Lundy Memorial, paying $4,000 to win, runs August 17 at Nodak Speedway in Minot. Minnesota’s Murray County Speedway hosts its Fair Race on August 15. In Wisconsin, 141 Speedway in Francis Creek hosts the Captain of the Creek on August 12.

The DeVilbiss Racing Eastern Region for the Modifieds features a busy Michigan schedule with I-96 Speedway in Lake Odessa hosting on August 1. Merritt Speedway runs the Ed Van Duinen Wood Tic weekend August 1 and 2, while Crystal Motor Speedway races August 2, 16, and 23. Merritt also hosts another qualifier on August 30. Southern Raceway in Milton, Florida, adds one more event on August 31.

The Shaw Race Cars Western Region sees Sunset Speedway Park in Banks, Oregon, hosting the Banks Mod Nationals on August 9. Southern Oregon Speedway in White City features the Legends of Dirt $10,000-to-win special on August 16. Lovelock Speedway in Nevada runs on August 2. Diamond Mountain Speedway in Vernal, Utah, holds the All-Star Matchup weekend on August 8 and 9.

Skagit Speedway in Alger, Washington, races on August 2. The East West Clash at Gillette Thunder Speedway in Wyoming spans August 29 to 31, with Sweetwater Speedway racing on August 30 and Grays Harbor Raceway on August 31.

In the Jet Racing Central Region, Nebraska’s US 30 Speedway in Columbus hosts a qualifier on August 21.

Sunoco IMCA Stock Car racers in the EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region have plenty of opportunities left. Iowa’s Kossuth County Speedway is in action July 31, followed by Marshalltown Speedway on August 1 and Independence Motor Speedway on August 2 for their 60th Anniversary Night. Kossuth returns on August 7 for the Schattschneider Memorial. Benton County Speedway in Vinton wraps up the Iowa slate with the Bald Tire Bash on August 10. In Minnesota, the Sibley County Stock Car Shootout takes place on July 30 at Arlington Raceway, and the Murray County Fair Race is scheduled for August 15 at Slayton.

North Dakota’s McLean County Speedway hosts the Coal County Classic doubleheader August 1 and 2, while the $4,000-to-win Ole Olson Memorial runs August 3 at Nodak Speedway, and the Richard Jordan Memorial is August 9 at Southwest Speedway. Wisconsin’s 141 Speedway holds the Blue Race of the Red, White, and Blue Series on August 2. Sunset Speedway Park in Banks, Oregon, races on August 9. In Wyoming, Sweetwater Speedway runs a qualifying show on August 16.

In the EQ Cylinder Heads Southern Region, Nevada’s Lovelock Speedway will again host a Stock Car qualifier on August 2.
