Inaugural Frank Brewer Memorial G60 Classic Headlines July 26 Program at Cottage Grove

COTTAGE GROVE, Ore. (July 22, 2025) — A special night of racing is in store at Cottage Grove Speedway this Saturday, July 26, as the historic 1/4-mile clay oval hosts the inaugural Frank Brewer Memorial G60 Classic. The event, honoring longtime tire vendor and Cottage Grove fixture Frank Brewer, will feature the Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds in a unique and lucrative format — and serve as a qualifier for the Fast Shafts All-Star Modified Invitational, to be held at the Speedway Motors IMCA Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s later this summer.

Modified drivers will qualify through single-car time trials, with heat races lined up straight off the stopwatch. The only exception is that the fastest car in each heat will start fourth. Winners of each heat race, along with the fastest car that finishes high enough to qualify for the A Main, will advance to the Dash. Any car that starts fourth and wins its heat is automatically awarded the best starting spot possible in the dash, while remaining dash participants will draw for position.

Cars failing to qualify through the heats will compete in B Mains, which will be lined up based on heat race finishes. Remaining main event starters will also be set heads-up from heat race results.

The marquee event will feature a 60-lap A Main, split into two segments. Drivers will run the first 30 laps before returning to the pit area while other divisions contest their features. During that break, teams may make any adjustments necessary. Drivers will then return to the track for the final 30-lap run to the checkers, lining up double file in the order they were scored at the conclusion of the first segment.

A special twist to the purse includes a free G-60 tire for all A Main starters (up to 20 cars), a tribute to Frank Brewer’s many years of service as the track’s tire distributor. The race pays $3,000 to win, $1,500 for second, $800 for third, and $160 to start.

Saturday’s schedule includes a 2 p.m. pit gate opening, a 4 p.m. drivers meeting, and grandstands opening at 4:30 p.m. Packing is scheduled for 5 p.m. with hot laps and qualifying immediately following. Racing begins at 6:30 p.m.

Tickets are priced at $16 for adults, $13 for juniors (13–17), seniors (62+), and military. Youth tickets for ages 6–12 are $6, with children five and under admitted free. A Family Pass, which includes admission for two adults and up to four youth (6–12), is available for $40. VIP Skybox seats are $35. Pit passes are $40.
