MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa (Jun. 27, 2025) — The nightcap proved to be a scorcher as the Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds roared onto the track. Dustin Kroening sat on the pole, with Jake McBirnie to his outside. But it was Marshalltown native Tom Berry Jr. who made quick work of the field, grabbing the lead early and leaving the rest behind. Berry cruised to a dominant win in the 20-lap finale, while Kollin Hibdon and McBirnie completed the podium.

The win was Berry’s third of the season, coming at three different tracks, with two scored in the Razor Chassis North Central Region.

Carter Slides to SportMod Supremacy

Fans were treated to a slide-job clinic in the Karl Chevrolet IMCA Northern SportMods. Kaden Rice of Mitchellville started from the pole with Boone’s Matt Avila alongside. Avila led early, but caution flags gave Brayton Carter the openings he needed. The two traded sliders in spectacular fashion before Carter finally cleared Avila and held on for the win. Will Wolf placed third.

It marked Carter’s 19th win of the season and sixth at Marshalltown.

Graham Grabs Hobby Stock Win in Wild One

The Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stocks went 20 laps deep with plenty of drama. Dustin Filloon and Braden Gifford led the field to green, with Gifford pacing early until he slid off turn two, prompting a caution and shuffle at the front. That opened the door for Bradly Graham and Eric Knutson to go head-to-head, but it was Graham’s 2G machine that sealed the deal. Eric Stanton placed third.

It was Graham’s fifth win of the season in the B&B Racing Chassis Northern Region and his second trip to victory lane at MoTown this year.

Chandler Awarded Sport Compact Win

The Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compacts had an extra $500 on the line thanks to Minute Man Painting. Brad Chandler and David Kimmel brought the field to life, but Katelynn Watts stole the spotlight—until post-race tech. Watts was disqualified for an illegal camshaft, handing the big-money win to Chandler, who had dominated much of the race anyway. Michael Gardner and Spencer Roggentien were second and third..

The win was Chandler’s first of the 2025 season.

Schmidt Sails to Stock Car Glory

In the Sunoco IMCA Stock Cars, Jay Schmidt wasted no time getting to the front. Starting behind Braden Richards and Jared Miller, Schmidt powered into the lead early and checked out from there. Austin Meiners, Richards, Thor Anderson, and Jimmy Gustin made up the chasing pack but never had a shot as Schmidt took a commanding win in the 20-lap main. Meiners and Richards were behind him in second and third.

It was Schmidt’s second win of the year in the EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region, both coming at different tracks.

Gray Cruises in Mod Lites

Kicking off the night were the Stealth Racing IMCA STARS Mod Lites. Dillion Bush started on the pole after Garret Barber elected to drop to the tail, with Garrison Anderson to his outside. But it was fifth-starting Austin Gray who wasted no time charging to the front. He held off a strong effort from Bryan Zehm to pick up the win. Chaz Baca rounded out the podium.

The victory marked Gray’s fourth win of 2025, and his first away from Boone Speedway this year.
