Whisler Adds Douglas County Dirtrack to 2025 Win List

ROSEBURG, Ore. (Jun. 27, 2025) — Eston Whisler powered his way to a flag-to-flag victory in the Friesen Performance IMCA Modified main event at the Douglas County Dirtrack, scoring his fourth win of the 2025 season in the Shaw Race Cars Western Region.

Whisler, of Otis, started fifth and took the lead on lap two from early pacesetter Bennett Bray. The race’s first caution came on lap five, but Whisler nailed the restart and pulled away from the field. He encountered lapped traffic on lap 15, but before it impacted his progress, another yellow flag waved to reset the field.

From there, Whisler continued to dominate on restarts, cruising to victory at his fourth different track this season. Kevin Williamson wheeled the Superior Fuel Cells-owned no. 42 to second place, while California’s Ethan Killingsworth rounded out the podium in third.

Sanders Soars From 10th to Win Again at Douglas County Dirtrack

Matt Sanders of Brookings put on a show in the Karl Chevrolet IMCA Northern SportMod feature, charging from 10th to victory lane in Friday’s 20-lap main event. The win marked his second of the season at the Douglas County Dirtrack and seventh overall in 2025.

Aaron Bloom took command early in the Schram Motorsports no. 333 until Isaac Sanders slipped by, only to spin on lap three and hand the lead back. After a restart on lap six, a tight three-car fight for the top spot broke out between Bloom, Ricky Ashley, and Matt Sanders.

Ashley, in the T.R. Points Trucking-owned no. 1185, grabbed the lead briefly before Sanders used the high line to storm past him on lap 13. The recently crowned two-time IMCA Wild West Speedweek champion held strong through multiple restarts to secure the win.

Ashley settled for second, while Bloom completed the podium in third.

James repeats Wild West Speedweek heroics with win at Douglas County

(June 18, 2024) – Bricen James and Chase Berkeley both raced back to victory lane while Ethan Killingsworth captured his first checkered flag of the 2024 IMCA Wild West Speedweek Tuesday at Douglas County Dirtrack. James, who’d topped the opening night show at Yreka, banked $1,000 for his Friesen Performance IMCA Modified victory while Berkeley followed his Monday Coos Bay win with an impressive run from 11th starting. Killingsworth paced the Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods. A pair of former Speedweek champions made up the front row in the Modified tilt, with Troy Morris III and Kellen Chadwick fighting for the initial lead. Morris used the top of the track and beat Chadwick to the line to pace the field. Chadwick settled into second with Jacob Mallet Jr. and James in pursuit. James Makes History with Fourth Straight IMCA Speedweek Win at the Douglas County

(Jun. 17, 2025) — Bricen James etched his name into the IMCA Wild West Speedweek record books Tuesday night at the Douglas County Dirtrack, capturing a thrilling Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature for his fourth straight Speedweek victory — the most consecutive wins in series history for the Modifieds. James’ triumph was his 15th career Speedweek win and sixth of the 2025 season in the Shaw Race Cars Western Region, keeping him undefeated in Speedweek action at the Roseburg oval. 2023 Skagit Speedway champion Geoff Morris, from British Columbia, led the opening circuit before Chad Groves rocketed around the outside to take command on lap three. Douglas County fills a Friday niche for IMCA in Oregon

ROSEBURG, Ore. (Feb. 12, 2024) – Drivers in the Pacific Northwest will chase IMCA points at a newly sanctioned Friday night venue. Douglas County Dirtrack hosts seven dates for Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds, nine for the Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods and eight Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compact shows this season. First points races will be April 12 with the final night on Sept. 2. Pounds Prevails in Emotional McGowan Memorial Win at Bakersfield

(Jun. 28, 2025) — Brad Pounds delivered an emotional victory in Saturday’s 30-lap Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature, capturing the $1,032-to-win Richie McGowan Memorial at Kevin Harvick’s Kern Raceway. The win marked Pounds’ second of the season at Bakersfield Speedway and in the Shaw Race Cars Western Region, coming in tribute to his late father-in-law. Pounds and Bryan Clark shared the front row for the main event, with a four-wide battle on the opening lap quickly sorting out in Pounds’ favor. Chelf Scores First-Ever Stock Car Win At Maquoketa

By Jerry Mackey MAQUOKETA, Iowa (June 28, 2025) — Andrew Chelf of nearby Lost Nation has won plenty of Hobby Stock races at his home track, but Saturday night marked his first-ever triumph in the ultra-competitive Sunoco IMCA Stock Cars at Maquoketa Speedway. Chelf ran the bottom side to perfection, holding off a host of challengers for the EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region victory.
