Williams Wins Hobby Stock Classic in Three-Way Showdown

HAYS, Kan. (June 7, 2025) — The Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stock feature at RPM Speedway treated fans to a thriller, as Cody Williams, Dylan Bell, and Zach Olmstead—three of the best in the state—went toe-to-toe in a wild battle for the win. After rookie Ted Trumbo led the opening lap from the pole, cautions allowed the heavy hitters to work their way forward.

Once in front, Williams defended every slider and crossover from Bell and Olmstead in a crowd-pleasing finale. Williams came out on top for his fourth win of the season in the B&B Racing Chassis Northern Region, and his first at RPM in 2025. Olmstead finished second, with Bell third.

Schwien Powers to First Win of 2025 in Compact Feature

Jake Schwien came from deep in the pack to score his first Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compact win of the season. Starting eighth, Schwien sliced through the field and took the lead from early pacesetter Kaishen Brack, who had led the opening laps from the pole.

Schwien never looked back once he got out front, holding off Brack at the checkers. Kiowa Higdon rounded out the top three.

Abelson gets 5,000 reasons to remember his first IMCA Modified Fall Nationals feature win

HAYS, Kan. (Oct. 7) – If he’s remembering right, Chris Abelson had never won a race before Saturday at RPM Speedway. There are 5,000 reasons why he won’t forget his first IMCA Modified main event win at Hays. Abelson led all 40 laps of the Fall Nationals fueled by Casey’s feature, taking the $5,000 checkers ahead of Tyler Frye. After Friday’s program was lost to inclement weather, Abelson won his heat and topped the second qualifying feature Saturday afternoon to start on the outside of the front row in the main event that evening. “For the amount of rain they’d gotten, the track wasn’t that rough,” said Abelson. “I could run top, middle, bottom. $5,000 is top IMCA Modified prize at RPM Fall Nationals

HAYS, Kan. – RPM Speedway puts the final touches on the 2018 season with one of the richest post-season events on the IMCA schedule, the Friday and Saturday, Oct. 5 and 6 Fall Nationals. IMCA Modifieds race for $5,000 to win and a minimum of $400 to start their Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot-qualifying feature during the 12th annual event at Hays. Also on the card this weekend are IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars racing for $3,000 to win and $250 to start, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods for $2,000 to win and $175 to start, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks for $1,500 to win and $175 to start, and Mach-1 Sport Compacts for $300 to win and $50 to start. Registration fee and non-qualifier pay is $150 for Modifieds, $100 for Stocks and $75 for SportMods and Hobby Stocks. Tow money for Sport Compacts is $25. Grabouski gets bookend hardware at Fall Nationals

HAYS, Kan. (Oct. 6) – Jordan Grabouski came home from Hays with a bookend Fall Nationals trophy. Grabouski led all 40 laps of Saturday’s IMCA Modified main event at RPM Speedway. The victory was good for $5,000 and hardware to complement the trophy he got at the 2011 event. “I had a five second lead at one point so we definitely had a good car,” said Grabouski, already on the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot. “It’s hard to know how much you’re leading by, especially when you’re in lapped traffic. There was a restart with six laps to go and I was able to pull away a bit after that.” He’s had mixed luck at RPM in the past – a late flat tire took him out of contention at last year’s Fall Nationals – but Grabouski won both his heat and qualifying feature on Friday night. Probst Powers to Third Arlington Hobby Stock Win

(Jun. 7, 2025) — In Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stock action at Arlington Raceway, Jonathan Schroeder was the early leader until he pulled off the track on lap 9, following a yellow for Taylor Manderfield’s engine issues. That opened the door for Cory Probst, who took over after the restart and never looked back. The Brewster driver powered to his 13th victory of the season in the B&B Racing Chassis Northern Region and third of the year at Arlington. Jordan Robinson followed Probst across the line in second. Blood Edges Patterson in Photo Finish at Sunset

Both the reigning Oregon and Washington state champions were in the house, and the action lived up to the billing. Oregon’s Carter Patterson set a torrid pace out front that could’ve gone unnoticed—if not for the war that broke out behind him for positions two through five. David Day, John Gaynor, Tyson Blood, and Devon Reed were locked in a relentless battle, often racing under a blanket and using multiple grooves across the Bullring. By the time Tumwater, Washington’s Tyson Blood finally broke through to second, he faced a mountain: a four-second gap to the leader, lap traffic, and just 15 laps remaining. Lamphere Charges to Second Win After Wild Woodhull Modified Feature

(Jun. 7, 2025) – A string of early cautions slowed the start of the Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature at Woodhull Raceway, setting the stage for a dramatic and unpredictable main event. Shawn Bruce led the opening laps before mechanical trouble forced him to the back of the field, bringing out a yellow. That handed the lead to Jakub Ingham, who paced the field for a couple circuits until longtime Street Stock veteran Earl Zimmer muscled his way into the top spot. But heartbreak struck again—Zimmer’s car suffered a rear-end failure that ended his night prematurely. Ingham regained the lead, but his challenge was just beginning. Keith Lamphere, charging forward with momentum, closed in and eventually made the pass to take over the top spot. Lamphere then held off all challengers to score his second win of the season at Woodhull and second overall in the DeVilbiss Racing Eastern Region. Ingham settled for a strong runner-up finish, with Jacob McConnell crossing the line third.
