West Edges Graham in Hobby Stock Nail-Biter at Marshalltown Speedway

MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa (Jun. 6, 2025)  Side-by-side action lit up the Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stock feature at Marshalltown Speedway. Bradley Graham of Victor and Ferguson’s Sam West battled relentlessly throughout the 16-lap contest. A late caution regrouped the field and set up a classic showdown to the checkers. West surged ahead at the line to steal the win by just .007 seconds, earning his first B&B Racing Chassis Northern Region victory of 2025. Eric Stanton finished third.

Photo Finish Thriller in Sport Compacts

A razor-close margin decided the 15-lap Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compact feature. Mitichal Bunch of Des Moines grabbed the lead from the pole and held off a late charge from Michael Gradner, who found grip through the middle and challenged hard in the final circuits. Fans erupted as Bunch edged Gradner by just .007 seconds at the flagstand to score his first win of the year. Christian Grady came home third.

Speedy Bray Banks $1,000 in SportMod Topless Special

Karl Chevrolet IMCA Northern SportMods brought 30 laps of topless action to the High Banks. Dike’s Curt Smeins and “Kid Rocket” Kaden Rice made up the front row, but Jenae Gustin surged to the early lead. A few cautions helped Brayton Carter stay in the hunt, and “Speedy Bray” capitalized mid-race to take command. Carter earned the Capital Sign Twin Topless Dirty 30’s $1,000 payday, marking his 17th win of the season and fifth at Marshalltown. Cory Kemkes took second, with Cam Reimers in third.

Hibdon Seals Topless Modified Victory

The 30-lap Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature saw Kollin Hibdon lead the charge from the pole. After winning last week, Hibdon looked dominant again, fending off mid-race cautions that allowed the field to tighten up. A final yellow gave Tanner Black one last chance, but Hibdon stayed poised and secured the $1,200-to-win Capital Sign Twin Topless Dirty 30’s victory. It was Hibdon’s fifth win of 2025, including four in the Razor Chassis North Central Region and three at MoTown. Trevor Fitz took third.

Gustin Rides the High Side to Stock Car Glory

In Sunoco IMCA Stock Car action, Boone’s Josalyn Elmquist led the field to green with Tyler Pickett to her outside. Pickett led the opener, but it was Jimmy Gustin who made the high line work to perfection. Michael Jaennette followed in Gustin’s tire tracks but couldn’t complete the pass. Gustin took his second win of the season at Marshalltown and third in the EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region. Johnathon Logue brought it home third.

Padilla Powers Low to Score Mod Lite Victory

Stealth Racing IMCA STARS Mod Lites opened the night with a high-speed chess match. Ben George, last week’s winner, took the early lead by ripping the cushion, while Corn Belt Clash champion Jon Padilla stuck to the bottom. Cautions tightened the pack multiple times, but Padilla’s low groove prevailed as he parked the No. 11P in victory lane for the fifth time this season. George and Bryan Zehm finished second and third, respectively.
