ARLINGTON, Minn. (May 31, 2025) — A new face in victory lane had the crowd roaring as Jed Trebelhorn and A.J. Zimmerman started on the front row of the Sunoco IMCA Stock Car main event and raced side by side for the first five laps until Tim Pessek worked his way into the mix. A yellow flag waved when Mark Zimmerman spun in turn four and exited the track.

On the restart, Trebelhorn maintained the point and took off, while Pessek, Zimmerman, and Josh Larson battled for second. Another caution came on lap ten when Randy Melvin had issues and pulled off the track.

Trebelhorn again led the field to green and withstood heavy pressure. Some drivers found grip on the top, others searched low, but lap by lap, Trebelhorn held on for an exciting win — his first career Stock Car victory at Arlington and in the EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region. Larson finished second, with Pessek close behind in third.

Loverude Outlasts Hatlestad for Second Arlington Modified Triumph of the Year

The Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds had a tough time getting going, with three yellow flags on the opening lap. Clint Hatlestad took the early lead but was tracked down by Trent Loverude, who made his move on lap five and never looked back.

Lapped traffic came into play late in the contest, but Loverude kept his rhythm and built a cushion over the final two laps. On the white flag lap, Chad Porter slipped past Hatlestad to claim second as Loverude secured his second Arlington win of the season and third overall in the Razor Chassis North Central Region. The New Ulm driver started seventh.

Looft Rallies from 10th for Fifth SportMod Win of the Season

Bryan Spaude had his Karl Chevrolet IMCA Northern SportMod dialed in early, leading the first 10 laps of the feature. A lap eight caution came after Joey Reimers made contact with Matthew Looft, spinning him around. Reimers went to the tail on the restart.

Two laps later, Ben Enter hit the frontstretch wall and retired from the race. The incidents helped Looft regain track position. With five laps to go, the Swea City, Iowa standout passed Spaude for the lead. One lap later, Eric Larson also moved around Spaude and gave chase.

Looft stayed steady to collect his fifth win of the season. Larson finished second, and Ben Reierson made a last-lap move to steal third from Spaude.

Serbus Sails to Third Arlington Sprint Car Victory of 2025

The RaceSaver IMCA Sprint Car main saw an early pile-up in turn two that eliminated three contenders. Owen Graf spun and wheel-hopped cousin Hannah Graf, collecting both as well as Rob Rawson in the incident.

Once racing resumed, Brett Allen jumped to the lead but was overtaken by Trevor Serbus on lap four. Serbus, from Olivia, drove away to score his third win of the season — all coming at Arlington. Allen settled for second while Mike Stien claimed third.

Schelitzche Steals Win from Schumacher with Last Lap Pass in Sport Compacts

Gary Schumacher appeared poised for another Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compact win, but Justin Schelitzche had other plans. The Chaska driver stalked Schumacher’s bumper throughout the race before making a bold move on the final lap.

Schelitzche completed the pass and raced to his second consecutive Arlington victory. Schumacher finished second, and Justin Dose completed the podium in third.

Probst Powers Past Schroeder for Second Arlington Hobby Stock Victory

The Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stock feature ran caution-free and featured a pair of leaders. Jonathan Schroeder paced the field early from the pole before Cory Probst, who started ninth, reeled him in by lap four.

The two-time national champion from Brewster made his move three laps later and never gave up the top spot. Probst collected his second win of the year at Arlington and 11th overall in the B&B Racing Chassis Northern Region. Schroeder finished second and Chad Volk took third.

Extra money was up for grabs thanks to Bode Collision & Glass and K&R Towing, who each provided a $100 bonus to the night’s feature winners.
