COLBY, Kan. (May 24, 2025) — Dylan Sherfick lived up to his nickname Friday night, blasting to the front of the Friesen Performance IMCA Modified field and never looking back at Thomas County Speedway. The Colby crowd was electric as the “Dynamite” driver exploded from a mid-pack starting position and took control early after John Fabrizius led the opening laps.
Sherfick’s pace was unmatched once he reached clean air, pulling away from the field as Clay Money tried to keep him within striking distance. But the veteran from Penokee found no openings, and Sherfick stretched his advantage en route to his first win of the season.
Fabrizius, who had grabbed the early lead from the pole, held on to complete the podium in third. The win marked a strong return to form for Sherfick in the Jet Racing Central Region.
Weber Flies to Dominant SportMod Victory
Adam Weber put on a clinic in the Karl Chevrolet IMCA Northern SportMod feature, slicing through traffic and leaving the field behind. Jack Kirchoff led early but had no answer for Weber once the No. 15 car found its rhythm.
Weber checked out and won by nearly seven seconds over Blaine Walt, who edged Josh Barnhart in a close battle for the runner-up position. The victory was Weber’s first of the season at Colby.

Burkhart Holds Off Late Charge in Stock Car Thriller
Tathan Burkhart took advantage of a final restart and held off one of the region’s toughest veterans to score his third Sunoco IMCA Stock Car win of 2025. After leading early, Burkhart had Doug Holzmeister to contend with as the two raced wheel-to-wheel through the mid-stages of the race.
A caution with three laps to go brought the field back together. On the restart, Burkhart dropped to the bottom and defended perfectly to keep Holzmeister at bay. Troy Burkhart crossed the line in third behind the lead duo.
