ANTIOCH, Calif. (May 17, 2025) – Bobby Hogge of Salinas won the 25 lap Friesen Performance IMCA Modified finale Saturday night at Antioch Speedway. It was also the 80th career Antioch win for Hogge, putting him on top of the track’s all-time combined main event winner’s leader board.
Jonathan Hagio led the first two laps before Hogge found a way by for the lead. A yellow flag waved for Jacob Mallet Jr. on the back straightaway on lap seven. Hogge continued to lead with Cody Burke moving into second, but a yellow flag waved again on lap eight. On this restart, incoming point leader Troy Foulger moved into second behind Hogge.
Another yellow flag waved for a turn four tangle on lap nine, but Hogge maintained command ahead of Foulger and Josh Combs of Roseville on the restart. The final 15 laps saw a pair of yellow flags, but each time Hogge pulled ahead of Foulger to maintain the lead and win his fourth in the Shaw Race Cars Western Region this season. As Hogge sped on to victory, Foulger held off Combs for second. Friday night
Trevor Clymens of Brentwood won the 20-lap Karl Chevrolet IMCA Northern SportMod feature. This was his first win of the season and his 28th career feature victory in the division. The three-time champion led from the outset.
When the green flag waved, Clymens led Fred Ryland and Al Johnson. However, Johnson spun at the end of the straightaway for a yellow flag. Clymens continued to lead the restart with California State point leader Danny Wagner moving into second. Following a yellow flag on lap six, incoming point leader Kenny Shrader of moved into second behind Clymens with Jason Ryan Jr. charging into third.
Despite multiple yellow flags during the second half of the race, Clymens kept his cool on each restart and would bring it home a happy winner. Shrader settled for second. Ryan ended up third.

Fred Ryland of Brentwood won the 20-lap Sunoco IMCA Stock Car main event. The race was destined to go without a yellow flag, and Ryland led all but the opening lap for his second-straight win in the division.
Jake Archibald led the opening lap before Ryland slipped underneath him in turn four to gain the lead and soon Kenneth Robles moved into second on lap three. Ryland began to build a huge lead and led by a straightaway at the halfway mark. Ryland went on to victory ahead of Robles and Archibald for his second EQ Cylinder Heads Southern Region of 2025.
