$250 Sunoco bonus for Late Model winners in Iowa this weekend

VINTON, Iowa – Extra money is on the line for the winner of a pair of main events for IMCA Sunoco Late Models this weekend.

The next two installments of the $250 Sunoco Race Fuels bonus will be paid to the July 30 Late Model winner at Marshalltown Speedway and the July 31 Late Model winner at Lee County Speedway in Donnellson.

Sunoco bonuses will be presented at IMCA Late Model sanctioned tracks in 2021. Drivers are eligible for one bonus during the racing season. Winners so far this year have been Matt Ryan at 300 Raceway in Farley, followed by Sean Johnson at Independence Motor Speedway, Andy Eckrich at 34 Raceway in West Burlington, Ron Klein at Dubuque Speedway, and most recently in Nebraska to Kyle Prauner at U.S. 30 Speedway in Columbus, Chase Osborne at Boone County Raceway in Albion, and to Brock Carlson at Off Road Speedway in Norfolk. 

IMCA will announce mid-week before the dates bonuses are to be awarded at each track.

Waterman lands Lee County Speedway opening night win

By Brian Neal  DONNELLSON, Iowa (April 12) – Jeff Waterman began his pursuit of another Lee County Speedway track title with the opening night IMCA Modified feature victory.  Friday’s 20-lap Budweiser IMCA Modified main saw Dennis LaVeine and Dakota Simmons draw the front row. LaVeine took advantage of his spot to jump out into the lead over Andrew Schroeder and Simmons.  Schroeder looked under LaVeine over the next five laps, before the first caution of the race appeared. On the restart, LaVeine jumped back out front with Waterman, who started ninth, coming from fifth to second.  While LaVeine worked the bottom of the track, Waterman used the top to try and wrestle the lead away. Coming off turn four on lap nine, Waterman used his momentum off the top to edge LaVeine at the line to take over the top spot.  Waterman maintained his advantage following a lap 10 restart as Schroeder and LaVeine battled for second. IMCA Stock Cars will chase $5,000 top prize at Marshalltown Speedway’s King of the Highbanks

MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa (April 8, 2022) – The fabled highbanks of Karl Auto Group Marshalltown Speedway are the setting for the $5,000 to win King of the Highbanks special for IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars next Thursday and Friday, April 14 and 15. Stock Cars will run two sets of heats on Thursday with the top 10 in points locked into Friday’s main event. The King of the Highbanks winner earns a guaranteed starting spot in the B & B Racing Chassis All-Star Invitational.  Stock Car entry fee for the weekend is $125.  IMCA Modifieds race for $1,000 to win and Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational qualifying eligibility, with a $20 entry fee, both Friday and Saturday. IMCA Northern SportMods and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks both race for $500 and IMCA STARS Mod Lites for $250 to win each night. Friday’s Mach-1 Sport Compact feature also pays $250 to win. Berry, Murty, Logue, Richards all record Marshalltown wins

By Joyce Eisele MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa (Aug. 21) – Marshalltown Speedway was back in action Friday night, missing only one week of racing due to the area’s devastating derecho.  The lights taken down during the storm were replaced with two BOSS LTG Stadium Light Towers and the show went on with KMJ Performance Free Grandstand Night. Tom Berry put on another dominating performance, winning for the eighth time this season in the IMCA Modifieds. Dallon Murty is mastering the High Banks in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, tak­ing his third trip to victory lane.  Johnathon Logue took the checkers for the third race in a row in the Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods and Braden Richards went back to the winner’s circle in the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks.
