Hyperco shifts to special events awards, adds STARS Mod Lites to IMCA program for 2021

PONTOTOC, Miss. – Hyperco takes a new awards approach in 2021, its 24th consecutive season as an IMCA sponsor.

The high performance suspension components manufacturer gives a coil spring to second, third and fourth-place finishers at 80 special events for IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Late Models, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks, Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods, Smiley’s Racing Products Southern SportMods and the newly-sanctioned IMCA STARS Mod Lites.

“IMCA has always been good to work with, the drivers, the community, everybody,” said Hyperco Motorsports and Performance Aftermarket Manager Justin Cockerham. “The opportunity to add Mod Lites popped up and any time we can help and engage with more drivers is great. That’s what we’re here for.”

Spring certificates will be mailed from the IMCA home office within a week after results from designated specials are received.

“Having grown up in the Carolinas, I love everything about dirt track racing. I got to go to North Dakota and do the Dakota Classic Tour and go to as many IMCA races as possible every year,” Cockerham said. “I’ve been able to work with a lot of IMCA drivers. It’s been fun.”

Hyperco also gives a pair of coil springs to two designated place finishers in Modified, Late Model, Stock Car, Hobby Stock, Northern SportMod and Mod Lite main event at the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s.

Hyperco manufacturing facilities are located in Pontotoc, Miss., and Logansport, Ind. The company had previously given awards based on national or regional point standings, adding Late Models to the IMCA program last season.

“The shift in the focus of this program is going to put a lot of springs in the hands of a lot of different drivers,” IMCA Marketing Director Kevin Yoder observed. “It is always great to provide new opportunities and incentives and we’re able to do that through the support of Hyperco.”
