Sellard rules IMCA Modifieds at Dodge City

DODGE CITY, Kan. (June 29) – Clay Sellard needed less than two laps to race into the lead from eighth and led the rest of the way in the 20-lapper for IMCA Modified to become the fifth different winner in as many races Saturday at Dodge City Raceway Park.

Sellard stretched his lead out to a full half-lap by the time a late caution flew to set up a four-lap dash to the stripe the Mid-Season Championship Night show.  Sellard took off once again to se­cure the victory ahead of Tom Beavers, who made his way past Kevin Gray at the midway point to post runner-up honors. 

Beavers finished just ahead of his son Kale, with William Nusser and Gray rounding out the top five.

Dakota Sproul took command late and then survived an ailing engine the closing laps of the 20-lap feature to snare his third IMCA SportMod win of the season. 

Angel Munoz added more hardware to his collecting by storming to his fifth IMCA Stock Car fea­ture win of the season in six events. Munoz battled past Troy Burkhart on the third lap and led the rest of the way in the 15-lapper.

Tathan Burkhart rounded out the night by racing to his third Dodge City win of the season in the 20-lap IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock main event.

Soderberg Memorial concludes season at Dodge City

And now the 2020 racing season at Dodge City Raceway Park concludes with Saturday night’s eighth annual Jerry Soderberg Champion­ship Memorial atop the 3/8-mile clay oval in southwest Kansas.  It has been a condensed season that didn’t get under way until June 20, more than two-and-a-half months after the originally scheduled April 4 season opener, due to COVID-19 concerns. And now, three quick months later since the green flag finally flew at DCRP, five racers will earn their championship crowns on Saturday night. Dollansky Racing Promotions brings world of experience to Dodge City Raceway Park

DODGE CITY, Kan. – Craig Dollansky recalled being much impressed by Dodge City Raceway Park as a driver.  He’s gained an even greater appreciation for the southwest Kansas speedplant since becoming its new promoter. Driver Appreciation Night is Friday at Dodge City Raceway Park

(July 23) – Among the most anticipated racing nights of the year at Dodge City Raceway Park is in store with a special Friday night card this week featuring the annual Lewis Automotive Drivers’ Appreciation Night. The Friday night special at the state-of-the-art 3/8-mile clay oval in southwest Kansas features a full card of championship chase racing action including Precise Racing Products DCRP Sprint Cars, IMCA Modifieds, IMCA SportMods, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks with the green flag flying at 7:30 p.m. And not only do the drivers get in on the pageantry this year, fans receive a number of giveaways over the course of the evening as well. Last year’s Drivers’ Appreciation Night attracted more than 5,000 people as drivers were awarded a number of tickets to distribute to family, friends and sponsors. An even bigger turnout is expected this year.
