ALGONA, Iowa (June 18) – Tim Ward showed the way to the winner’s circle in weekly racing at Kossuth County Speedway.
Using the same high line that took Ryan Watnem out to a big lead early on, Ward gained the lead with four laps left and stayed in front to the finish of an Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modified main event that ran caution-free.
Watnem was second and Tad Reutzel took third.
Once out in clean air, Jake Masters pulled away from the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car field for his first feature win at Algona this summer. Heath Tulp was the runner-up with Dan Hanselman taking third.
Ben Schultze finally wrestled the lead away from Colby Fett and went onto the Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod victory, his first of the year at Kossuth County Speedway. Fett held on for second place with third going to Nick Meyer.
Shannon Anderson won the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock feature ahead of Chanse Hollatz and Jeremy Wegener.
Nate Coopman won his fifth Mach-1 Sport Compact feature in as many outings at Algona this season. Jay DeVries finished second and Kaytee DeVries was third.
