Frederick Nabs Eagle River Bounty Loot

By Joe Verdegan EAGLE RIVER, Wis. (Aug. 5, 2025) — Kyle Frederick played the role of bounty hunter Tuesday night at Eagle River Speedway. The Oconto Falls racer collected the Sunoco IMCA Stock Car feature win at the third-mile clay oval and pocketed a $1,000 bounty for ending Rod Snellenberger’s undefeated streak. Snellenberger had been six-for-six in his 2025 visits to Eagle River. The win marked Frederick’s second EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region victory of the season, each at a different track. Frederick powered into the lead from the pole on the initial start of the 20-lap contest. Snellenberger, who started fifth, quickly worked his way to third by lap four, then passed Dustin White for second on lap six. Frederick had built a four-car length cushion by the time a caution flew on lap 13 for a Nick Pagac spin. On the restart, Frederick held firm out front. Snellenberger stayed close but couldn’t make the move for the lead and had to settle for runner-up honors. White completed the podium in third.

Bounty On IMCA Stocker Snellenberger at Eagle River Speedway on August 5

By Joe Verdegan EAGLE RIVER, Wis. (Aug. 2, 2025) — Eagle River Speedway has placed a bounty on Wisconsin’s winningest Sunoco IMCA Stock Car driver – Pulaski’s “Hot Rod” Snellenberger – for the Tuesday, August 5 show at the Northwoods third-mile clay oval. Snellenberger, a two-time track champion at ERS, is undefeated this season with six feature wins in six appearances. Any IMCA Stock Car driver who can beat him on August 5 will receive a $300 bonus through the bounty. And that amount could increase before race night. To collect the bounty, Snellenberger must be running competitively and on the lead lap when the checkered flag flies. The track will use IMCA’s weekly point average system, so Snellenberger will likely start deep in the field — along with any out-of-town challengers looking to claim the bonus. The division’s highest car count this season has been 24. Since beginning his IMCA Stock Car career in 1993, Snellenberger has tallied 235 career feature wins. Snellenberger Nabs No. 234 at Eagle River

By Joe Verdegan  EAGLE RIVER, Wis. (July 22, 2025) — Pulaski’s “Hot Rod” Snellenberger bumped his career Sunoco IMCA stock car feature win total to 234 by picking up that division’s feature win at Eagle River Speedway Tuesday. Wisconsin’s winningest driver in the division started sixth on the grid in the 20 lap contest. Initially, it appeared that front row starter Jonathan Miller had the feature win in the bag. The Eagle River driver sprinted into the lead at the drop of the green of the race. Miller wasted little time building up a decent cushion between himself and the rest of the field. Snellenberger caught up with Miller after six laps and pressured Miller for several circuits before flying past Miller on the high side on lap 12. It was his sixth triumph in the EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region with five coming at Eagle River. Snellenberger kept all challengers at bay and cruised to victory in the caution free event. Miller hung on to claim second place money. Last week’s feature winner Ryan Glembin [Read More]

The victory marked Snellenberger’s fourth EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region win of 2025, his third at Eagle River this season, and the 232nd of his IMCA Stock Car career. On the restart, Cole Czarneski blasted into the second spot, and a three car dual ensued for the lead between Bouche, Czarneski and Snellenberger. After another yellow, Karcz would regain the top spot with Snellenberger hot on his heels. Snellenberger motored past Karcz on the eighth lap. [Read More]

Snellenberger soars again at Eagle River

By Joe Verdegan EAGLE RIVER, Wis. (June 18, 2024) – Rod Snellenberger passed Jason Zdroik for the lead with five laps remaining and went onto collect the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature win at Eagle River Speedway Tuesday night. Snellenberger, Wisconsin’s winningest IMCA Stock Car driver, trailed another former track champion who was substitute driving for his brother. On the final circuit coming out of turn four Zdroik clobbered the frontstretch wall, relegating him to a fourth place finish. For Snellenberger, the win was his 223rd career IMCA Stock Car feature flag.

IMCA Stock Cars are new attraction at Eagle River

EAGLE RIVER, Wis. (Feb. 15, 2024) – The newest attraction at Eagle River Speedway are the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars. The Class Too Tough To Tame joins the weekly lineup at the extreme northern Wisconsin track, with a dozen shows scheduled on Tuesday nights between May 26 and Aug. 20. “We like the class and the IMCA rules package. We think it will grow in this area,” said promoter Pat Zdroik, who had managed Eagle River Speedway under then-owner Don Scharf in the 1990s before purchasing it with wife Patti five years ago. “I think IMCA is going in the right direction, and we are hoping we’ll be able to get more cars locally and from around the area, particularly Shawano, Seymour and Green Bay.” Built in the mid-1970s, the 1/3-mile clay speedway fits right in with the surrounding tourism hotbed, with pine trees lining the first set of turns and the backstretch into the second set. “The track has been reconstructed since we bought it. It’s faster and allows for more passing, so drivers and [Read More]
