Clem captures Super Nationals STARS Mod Lite crown

BOONE, Iowa (Sept. 1, 2024) – Riley Clem’s first Stealth Racing IMCA STARS Mod Lite win of the season came in April at Boone Speedway. His biggest win of 2024 and of his career in the class came Sunday night at the same location, in the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s main event. Clem inherited the front spot when leader Dillon Raffurty was unable to answer the call following a red flag delay midway through the 30-lapper, then ran unchallenged the last 15 times around the track, beating Jon Padilla to the checkers by three-plus seconds. “It was as a great night for sure,” said Clem, a first-time qualifier for the Big Dance and $2,000 richer for his efforts. “I don’t know what happened to (Dillon) but I think we would have had a pretty good run for sure.” A record 78 Mod Lites vied in the division’s fourth appearance on the card at Super Nationals. Padilla makes STARS Mod Lite RoC win look easy

BOONE, Iowa (Sept. 1, 2024) – Hard to believe but Jon Padilla believes Boone Speedway isn’t as easy to get around as he made it look. Padilla led all 12 laps of Sunday’s STARS Mod Lite Race of Champions, cruising to the checkers nearly three seconds ahead of Ed Griggs “This track is really tricky to get around,” Padilla averred from victory lane. “I’m still trying to get it figured out.” “With day racing, the track changes so much it’s hard to guess what you’re going to get,” continued the Silvis, Ill., driver, runner-up in both 2022 and 2023 IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s main events as well as last year’s RoC. “We’re going to work on something in the middle for the feature (tonight). Ward, McBirnie write more Prelude history at Boone

BOONE, Iowa (Aug. 31, 2024) – Tim Ward made more history Saturday at Boone Speedway. Then Jake McBirnie wrote some of this own. Defending IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s champion Ward won the first of two Friesen Performance IMCA Modified features for his fourth consecutive victory during the NAPA Auto Parts Double Down Prelude. Brother-in-law and former Northern SportMod victor McBirnie then followed with a Modified win of his own, making him the first driver to win Prelude crowns in different divisions. A record 416 cars in four divisions saw action during the Saturday show. Ward chased and caught pole starter Izac Mallicoat four laps into their feature, then led another 21 fast-paced times around Iowa’s Action Track. Record pre-entries for 42nd annual Speedway Motors IMCA Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s

BOONE, Iowa (Aug. 30, 2024) – They say records are made to be broken. That’s become the theme for the Speedway Motors IMCA Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s. Just two days after the number of pre-entries for the 42nd annual event eclipsed the 1,000 mark for the third consecutive year, a new Super Nationals pre-entry record was set when Danube, Minnesota’s Shaun Bruns became the 1,054th entry for America’s Racin’ Vacation. Bruns was the 279th IMCA Sunoco Stock Car to register, also a pre-entry record. New early registration marks were also established with 84 STARS IMCA Mod Lites and 27 IMCA Sunoco Late Models. There are 241 Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds entered, along with 182 Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods, 164 IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and 77 Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compacts. The Hobby Stocks and SportMods are also nearing record pre-registration totals. Among the 1,054 entries so far, 30 states are represented, along with two Canadian provinces and Australia. Wednesday open house planned at BHE

AMES, Iowa (Aug. 30, 2024) – Bob Harris Enterprises hosts an open house Wednesday, Sept. 4 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at 2316 230th Street Suite 202 in Ames. Egg baked casserole, ham and cheese, cinnamon rolls and pastries will be served for the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s mid-week brunch. Both a 2025 GRT by BHE Modified and 2025 B & B by BHE Stock Car will be on display. Tours will be given of the shop and vendors on hand will have numerous giveaways.

Harris Auto Racing hosts Wednesday open house

BOONE, Iowa (Aug. 30, 2024) – New cars will be on display and barbeque pork along with the sides will be on the menu for the Wednesday, Sept. 4 open house at Harris Auto Racing in Boone. Hours are 10 a.m.-1 p.m., convenient for all IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s race teams and anyone interested in a short tour or speaking with any of the staff about Harris rides. They’ll have plenty about the Harris Modified and Northern SportMod and Terminator Stock Car and Hobby Stock to discuss, with the 40th business anniversary for Harris Auto Racing coming up in 2025.

Cornhole champions crowned at sixth annual Scorezit tournament

BOONE, Iowa (Aug. 29, 2024) – It will be a keen eye, just the right touch and maybe a bit of luck that determines the first champions crowned at the 42nd annual IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s. Scorezit, a division of Wehrs Machine and Racing Products, returns as title sponsor of the sixth annual Super Nationals cornhole tournament, slated Sunday, Sept. 1 at the NAPA Fan Zone on the grandstand side of Boone Speedway. Entry fee is $40 with a 100 percent payback to the top six teams in the double elimination tournament. Payouts are based on a 60-team field with the championship pair earning $972 plus a Scorezit scorekeeper courtesy of Scorezit, with $712 for second, $486 for third, $256 for fourth, $78 for fifth and $52 for sixth. Teams should begin checking in by 9:30 a.m. that day, with the first bags tossed competitively at approximately 10 a.m. Registration can be done under the Scoreholio App. The tournament is named Boone Iowa IMCA Super Nationals BYOP Cornhole Tourney.

Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational eligible drivers

BOONE, Iowa (Aug. 29, 2024) – Four more Friesen Performance IMCA Modified drivers made themselves eligible to qualify for the Friday, Sept. 6 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational, to be held during the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals at Boone Speedway. Brian Ungaro won the All-Star Modified special at Sweetwater Speedway and Matthew Hicks topped Barona’s Josh and Bob Thompson Memorial. Jeff Aikey aced the Legends Night feature at Benton County Speedway and Denny Eckrich was a weekly winner at 34 Raceway.
