Former Super Nationals champions McBirnie, Smith top Stock Car qualifiers

BOONE, Iowa (Sept. 4, 2024) – Two drivers who have already stood on the top step of the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s podium took the next step to returning to that lofty position Wednesday night. Jake McBirnie worked his way to the front from 11th starting and weathered three attempts at a green, white, checkered finish to win the evening’s first Stock Car qualifying feature while Devin Smith stayed out front and ahead of the calamity behind him in topping the nightcap. Jonny Carter, Jeffrey Abbey and 23rd starting Brandon Schmitt chased McBirnie to the checkers, Jeff Mueller, Shelby Williams and Curt Lund ran 2-3-4 behind Smith. BOONE, Iowa (Sept. 4, 2024) – Another IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s, another record number of cars. With Modifieds and Stock Cars beginning qualifying today at Boone Speedway, car count for the 42nd annual Super Nationals is at 1,032, up from 1,017 last year, 1,000 in 2022 and 909 in 2021. “We’re just going to keep building on what makes IMCA racers want to race here,” said IMCA President Brett Root. “This place hits the mark on everything drivers want, starting with a really racy track and all the other details that go with it, like the format and pit parking.” “Boone is a very, very competitive track. Kohl, Smith are winners while Burg puts on Hobby Stock show

BOONE, Iowa (Sept. 3, 2024) – Jason Kohl and Mike Smith won the qualifying features and front row starting spots that come with them while Keith Burg was the show Tuesday night at Boone Speedway. Kohl’s win in the first Hobby Stock qualifier puts him at the front of the middle row in Saturday’s main event at the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s. Sachau makes it three straight in Pulse Racing Innovations RoC

BOONE, Iowa (Sept. 3, 2024) – Jake Sachau’s third straight Pulse Racing Innovations Race of Champions win played out a lot like his first. Sachau led start to finish in the 12-car, 12-lap RoC for Northern SportMods Tuesday at Boone Speedway, taking the checkers ahead of Colby Fett, also the runner-up in 2022. “Colby is really good. All these guys are really good … I was rolling out there where I went and if they got me, they got me,” said Sachau. “It just worked out really good for us.” 2018 race winner Fett finished just over a tenth of a second off Sachau’s pace after starting fifth. Family is focus following Chandler’s run to Sport Compact crown

BOONE, Iowa (Sept. 3, 2024) – The family that celebrated when Sport Compacts made their first-ever appearance at the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s got to celebrate again Tuesday night. Brad Chandler made the most of a restart with five laps to go, motoring from third to the lead and ultimately the $1,250 checkers in the 4-cylinder headliner at Boone Speedway. “This means a lot to my family,” said Chandler, runner-up to brother Nathan when the division debuted at Super Nationals in 2011, a race that also saw brother Dallas finish fifth and father Merv end in 10th. “I took a couple years off. Probst prevails in Stephenville Starter RoC

BOONE, Iowa (Sept. 3, 2024) – Prelude winner Cory Probst knew all about the talent he’d be racing against in the Stephenville Starter Race of Champions. Then he went out and beat those cars, leading start to finish of the 12-lap Hobby Stock RoC Tuesday during the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s show at Boone Speedway. Probst drew the outside pole start and had Nathan Ballard on his back bumper or right alongside when every one of those dozen laps was scored. “Ballard is one hell of a driver. Checkers to Nelson on record night for Hobby Stocks at Boone

BOONE, Iowa (Sept. 2, 2024) – Dylan Nelson led the way to the checkers on a record-setting night Monday for Hobby Stocks at the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s. One hundred and sixty-eight Hobby Stocks were in the Boone Speedway house for Labor Day action, the most ever since the division was added to the Super Nationals card in 1997. Long runs at front lead Olson, Franzen to victory lane in SportMod qualifiers

BOONE, Iowa (Sept. 2, 2024) – After long runs at the front, Tony Olson and Jarett Franzen made their plans to go dancing. Olson led all but the first two laps in winning his Monday night qualifier and will start on the pole of Saturday’s IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s main event for Northern SportMods at Boone Speedway. Franzen was scored first across the stripe all 25 circuits of the second qualifier, outrunning hard-charging and defending champion Jake Sachau the final time around the track, and will start at the front of the middle row. Anderson three-peats at NAPA Auto Parts Double Down Prelude

BOONE, Iowa (Sept. 1, 2024) – Another record-setting night at the NAPA Auto Parts Double Down Prelude saw another driver make history at Boone Speedway. Logan Anderson won the second of two Sunday evening features for the Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods, extending his unprecedented Prelude streak in that division to three straight checkers. Anderson led the last 21 of 25 laps, chased the last 15 of those circuits by Robbie Thome. Anderson was leading by less than nine hundredths of a second before a late restart and managed to add a tenth or two to that lead the final couple laps. “That was a hard fought race.
