$5,000 to win King of the Katwalks feature at Boone’s July 20 IMCA Stock Car special

BOONE, Iowa (July 12, 2024) – Prestige and even more money are on the line for IMCA Sunoco Stock Car drivers at the upcoming Fox Welding/Vermeer King of the Katwalks presented by VanEaton Pork next Saturday, July 20 at Boone Speedway. The Stock Cars run for $5,000 to win and a minimum of $250 to start at the third annual special. Total purse for the King of the Katwalks main event is $18,500 with the winner earning a guaranteed starting spot in the upcoming B & B Racing Chassis All-Star Invitational. The runner-up earns $2,500 with $2,000 paid for third, $1,500 for fourth, $1,000 for fifth, $750 for sixth, $500 for seventh, $450 for eighth, $400 for ninth, $350 for 10th and $300 for 11th. BOONE, Iowa (July 12, 2024) – Go ahead and set your alarm for 9 a.m. CST Monday, July 15. That’s the time drivers in seven divisions can begin pre-entering for the 42nd annual IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s. Links to driver registration, pit stall reservations and camping forms are posted at www.imcasupernationals.com. Shute, Roberts, Sachau, Ullrich, Brown beat Mother Nature at Boone

By Joyce Eisele BOONE, Iowa (July 6, 2024) – Boone Speedway was back in action on Saturday night for their weekly racing series with 161 cars checking in for some fun. Thanks to Sauerman Trucking, all heat winners got $50. Storm clouds were in every direction, but no rain fell. Todd Shute nabbed his second feature win of the year in the Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds and Nick Roberts made it to victory lane for the first time in taking the checkers in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars.  It was Jake Sachau seeing the winner’s circle for his first regular season victory in the Friesen Performance Northern SportMods after just winning at the Eve of Destruction on July 4 in a non-track points race.  Making it to victory lane for the first-time ever at Boone was second generation racer Dayton Ullrich in the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and Charlie Brown was an easy winner of the IMCA Stealth STARS Mod Lites. Mueller, Burg are best at Boone

By Joyce Eisele BOONE, Iowa (June 29, 2024) – It was a full night of racing entertainment for the fans at Boone Speedway on Saturday night, with 183 cars packing the pits. Repeat wins went to Jake McBirnie in the Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds, Matt Avila in the Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods, and Travis Stensland in the Stealth Racing IMCA STARS Mod Lites.  First-time winners were Jeff Mueller in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Andrew Burg in the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks. Things got off to a great start with the flag-to-flag running of the 15 lap feature for Mod Lites. Polesitter Jamie Bailey led the opening lap but Cliff Barber took over when lap two went into the books.  By lap eight, it was eighth place starter Stensland who was captain of the ship.  When Stensland got the lead, he drove off from the rest of the field and scored the easy win. Barber was a distant runner up, followed by Austin Gray in third. Saturday win is first of season for Thornton at Iowa’s Action Track

By Joyce Eisele BOONE, Iowa (June 22, 2024) – Dylan Thornton was a first-time winner this season Saturday at Boone Speedway, while Austin Bouzek, Eric Knutson and Cam Reimers and Travis Stensland all returned to victory lane at Iowa’s Action Track. Features kicked off with 15 laps of Stealth Racing IMCA STARS Mod Lite racing. Randy Bryan, in the Austin Gray machine, led the field for lap one and then a caution flew. When the race returned to green, it was Cory Sonner taking over the top spot with Stensland soon in tow. The two battled it out for several laps before Stensland took over at the flag stand when lap nine went into the books. From there on out, it was all Stensland’s race. He pulled away to a healthy lead in the closing laps to take his third win of the season. Sonner finished a distant second. Taking checkered flags on Clash at the Creek programs at 141 Speedway were Benji LaCrosse and Eric Mahlik, while fair night winners at McLean County Speedway were Michael Swallers and Adam Goff. Mike Villanueva cashed in during the Central California Clash and Ryan Peery won big at Yreka Speedway’s Biehn Memorial. VINTON, Iowa (June 21, 2024) – Another 14 Friesen Performance IMCA Modified drivers have raced their respective ways to eligibility for Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational qualifying. Eric Barnes was best at East Moline Speedway’s Ronnie Weedon Memorial and Grey Ferrando topped Yreka Speedway’s Biehn Memorial. Winning Wild West Speedweek main events were Bricen James and Collen Winebarger. Benji LaCrosse won big at 141 Speedway’s Clash at the Creek while Kyle Strickler collected rich Twin 25 checkers at Beaver Dam Raceway. Sauerman scores first Boone win of season

By Joyce Eisele  BOONE, Iowa (June 15, 2024) – It was Farley’s Pre-owned Night at Boone Speedway on Saturday, and despite the gloomy forecast of rain/storms, it was no issue for the racing program and in particular for Cory Sauerman who took his first local Friesen Performance IMCA Modified win of the year. Doug Smith took the honors in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars for the second time, and also making return visits to victory lane were Cam Reimers in the Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods, Eric Knutson in the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and Ben George in the Stealth Racing IMCA STARS Mod Lites. The Mod Lites rolled to the track first for their 15-lap feature event.
