
Shryock scores $2,000 Hobo Hustle checkers
By Chad Meyer BRITT, Iowa (June 7, 2024) – Cloudy skies and early sprinkles did little to dampen the exciting action on Friday night at Hancock County Speedway, with IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars competing for a $2,000 Hobo Hustle top prize. Landus was the night’s title sponsor. Kelly Shryock hustled to the lead the early in the feature and motored out to a sizeable advantage that he held throughout much of the race. While he was leading, the action throughout the rest of the field was intense, as Colby Fett made a late-race run around the outside of the speedway to ultimately finish second. Troy Swearingen was in contention all night and finished third, ahead of Dan Mackenthun and Heath Tulp. Shryock, already guaranteed a starting spot in the upcoming B & B Racing Chassis All-Star Invitational, had prefaced that win with the Friesen Performance IMCA Modified checkers.
