Shryock scores $2,000 Hobo Hustle checkers

By Chad Meyer BRITT, Iowa (June 7, 2024) – Cloudy skies and early sprinkles did little to dampen the exciting action on Friday night at Hancock County Speedway, with IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars competing for a $2,000 Hobo Hustle top prize. Landus was the night’s title sponsor. Kelly Shryock hustled to the lead the early in the feature and motored out to a sizeable advantage that he held throughout much of the race. While he was leading, the action throughout the rest of the field was intense, as Colby Fett made a late-race run around the outside of the speedway to ultimately finish second. Troy Swearingen was in contention all night and finished third, ahead of Dan Mackenthun and Heath Tulp. Five dates for five IMCA divisions on Midwest Madness Tour

WORTHINGTON, Minn. (June 7, 2024) – Five events on five straight nights are on the Midwest Madness Tour schedule for five IMCA divisions. Opening night features Sunday, June 23 at Worthington Speedway see the Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds race for $1,500 to win and IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars for $1,200 to win. The Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMod feature pays $1,000 with $800 to win in the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and $400 to win for the Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compacts. Garner garners Marysville win with last-lap pass

(June 1, 2024) – Mark Garner’s second win of the season at Marysville Raceway came following his pass for the front of the final lap of Saturday’s Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMod main event. The feature kicked off with Shaun Merritt taking an early lead and setting a blistering pace with Garner hot on his heels. Merritt’s strategic use of the middle portion of the racing surface proved to be formidable and as Garner’s efforts were thwarted, it opened a window for Ray Lindeman to challenge for the runner-up position. The first stoppage, on the ninth circuit, bunched the field up and give Merritt an open track to work with. When the green flag returned, Garner got a brilliant run down the back stretch on lap 13, getting beside Merritt but just unable to complete the pass. Feller is IMCA Modified king at Electric City

(June 1, 2024) – Electric City Speedway had another stellar installment to their 2024 IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing slate with 20 Friesen Performance IMCA Modified entries on hand for Saturday’s show. Rex Feller skillfully maneuvered around front row starters John Price and Patrick La Mere, surging ahead to a significant lead within the first few laps and setting the stage for what proved to be a fiercely competitive race. As Feller held onto his lead, the race intensified into a thrilling pursuit. Kaycie Kynett steadily closed the gap but was unable to find a way past the leader. The two front runners began to approach lapped traffic but fortunately for Feller, a majority of the slower cars he encountered were operating on the high side of the track. Gentry picks up Strawberry Cup feature win

(June 1, 2024) – IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars were back at Willamette Speedway on Saturday for the historical Strawberry Cup, a race the venue has hosted for several decades. The race kicked off with a bang as Scott Winebarger took the lead on the first lap. Young talent Calista Johnson, applied pressure on the second circuit, almost overtaking the seasoned driver at the line. This thrilling battle continued for several laps, allowing Myke Landis and Sean Gentry to stay within striking distance. By the eighth lap, Winebarger had established a comfortable lead. Gentry secured the second position from Johnson and set his sights on Winebarger. The 17th and 18th laps saw cautions, setting the stage for a showdown between the two frontrunners. When the green flag came back out, Winebarger did his best to distance himself from Gentry and all other challengers. Williamson wows Bloom crowd at CGS

(June 1, 2024) – After getting those vision issues taken care of, Jesse Williamson kept his eyes on the prize and raced back to the front of the field and all the way to the Ralph Bloom Memorial checkers Saturday at Cottage Grove Speedway. The Coburg chauffeur had taken the lead from the initial start of the Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMod 50-lapper but would have problems after part of his hood folded back and began to give him visibility issues. Williamson retired to the pit area following a lap five caution, had the hood removed and came back out restarting dead last. Ethan Killingsworth became the new leader. Several cautions prevented him from getting a significant lead but at the same time also prevented heavy lapped traffic. Around midway, Williamson was back in the top five and on lap 27, a three-car battle for second was waged between Williamson, Jorddon Braaten and Matt Sanders. Duke is first 2024 PASS repeater

(June 2, 2024) – Ken Duke put all his experience to work, masterfully handling lapped traffic to hold onto the lead and become the first River Valley Builders Pennsylvania Sprint Series repeat winner of 2024, taking the 20-lap feature for IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars Sunday at Selinsgrove Speedway. The hometown driver, a two-time PASS champion and 2019 IMCA RaceSaver national champ, fought off a determined bid by Nick Sweigart – also seeking to become the season’s first repeat winner – and came home first by 2.617 seconds, building most of that margin in the last couple of laps after overcoming a final challenge in race traffic. Foulger, Ryland, Robles all win at Antioch

By Candice Martin ANTIOCH, Calif. (June 1, 2024) – Troy Foulger won the 20-lap Friesen Performance IMCA Modified main event Saturday at Antioch Speedway. This was the first win of the season for the multi-time and reigning track champion. Foulger bolted into the lead at the start ahead of Randy Shafer. Andrew Pearce slipped into third on the fifth lap and Foulger had a straightaway advantage by then. Foulger caught slower traffic as Shafer and Pearce battled for second. A yellow flag waved on lap 10. Foulger led Pearce and Shafer on the restart but the yellow flag was out after 12 laps for a backstretch crash involving two cars. Foulger maintained the lead on the restart with Bobby Hogge IV moving into second, but another yellow flag waved on lap 14. Kellen Chadwick got past Pearce for third on the ensuing restart and took second from Hogge on a lap 17 restart. However, Foulger was dialed in and drove a flawless race for victory.
