Bike giveaways as DCRP action continues on Saturday

More of the same is expected with this Saturday’s Lewis Automotive Night of championship action at the state-of-the-art dirt track facility featuring IMCA Modifieds, IMCA SportMods, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks. Koch leads Sprint Series of Oklahoma to Wichita Speedway

By David Smith Jr. OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – After two consecutive rainouts, the Sprint Series of Oklahoma IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car Series presented by Smiley’s Racing Products make its first appearance of the season at Wichita Speedway in Wichita Falls, Texas Friday night. The April 28 event is part of the track’s “Sprint Spring Fling.” Local resident and current series point leader Chad Koch looks to add a second victory to his resume as he leads a talent-laden field of veteran and rookies to the quarter-mile clay oval. Grandstand admission is $15 for adults, $12 for seniors, military police and fire personnel, and $10 for kids ages 6-10. The drivers’ meeting is at 6 p.m. and racing starts at 8 p.m.

URSS Kansas Region opener Saturday at RPM Speedway

HAYS, Kan. – The 2017 United Rebel Sprint Series Kansas Region Championship will kick off this Saturday at RPM Speedway in Hays. The lightning fast 3/8’s mile high banks have seen some of the best battles for wins in the 12-year history of the series and last year Luke Cranston took the first race win en route to the Kansas Regional Crown. Brian Herbert swept the Wheatshocker Nationals and the Rocky Mountain Grill to mark off the race from his bucket list of career accomplishments. Six dates announced for IMCA Empire State Series

CENTER LISLE, N.Y – Six race dates are on the initial schedule for the 2017 Empire State Series for IMCA Modifieds. Thunder Mountain Speedway hosts the opening night show during the Memorial Weekend on May 27. Night two is June 23 at Glen Ridge Motorsports Park. The tour returns to Thunder Mountain on July 15 and then travels to Fonda Speedway on Aug. 2. Glen Ridge is site of the Aug. 25 show. The 16th annual tour concludes Sept. 23 at Outlaw Speedway. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Dirt Works Eastern Region and Allstar Performance State points will be awarded at each event.

Longdale Speedway partners with City of Fairview for Race FANatics Days

By Shawn Miller LONGDALE, Okla. – Longdale Speedway is proud to announce a joint venture with the nearby town of Fairview for the Race FANatics Days event on June 17. Fairview, Okla., which is located approximately 13 miles from Longdale Speedway, will host the unique event featuring live music, a race car show, race car parade and more from 11 a.m. until it gets dark at Main Street and Broadway Street. “We are extremely pleased to be a part of the Race FANatics Days event, which will hopefully introduce racing and some of the drivers to the community,” Longdale Speedway General Manager Greg Burgess said. “There will be a lot of activities for families to enjoy and our goal is to mix the community with racing in an atmosphere different from the race track.” In addition to the music, car show and parade, race teams will be selling merchandise and will be introduced to the crowd. IMCA Late Model track point season starts this Friday

VINTON, Iowa – The track point season for IMCA Late Models opens Friday, April 28 and continues through Sunday, Aug. 27. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National and Allstar Performance State points will also be awarded at Friday venues Davenport Speedway, Farley Speedway and Marshalltown Speedway; Saturday tracks Hamilton County Speedway, Independence Motor Speedway, Maquoketa Speedway and Shelby County Speedway; and Sunday tracks Benton County Speedway, Dubuque Speedway, Quad City Speedway and West Liberty Raceway. Final national and state points will be awarded through the Liberty 100 Weekend Deery Brothers Summer Series weekend at West Liberty Raceway in September.

Dacotah Speedway releases 2017 schedule 

MANDAN, N.D. – Dacotah Speedway will celebrate its 28th season of racing starting Friday, May 5. The racing season is anticipated to be bigger and better as officials and volunteers have been working hard during the off-season to find ways to enhance the show in the best interest of the fans. Labeled the “Fastest Friday Night in Bismarck-Mandan,” races will start Friday nights at 7 p.m. with plans to wave the checkered flag around 10 p.m. “We know our fans work hard during the week and their time is valuable. Raceway Park opener sees Schouten in victory lane

By Bob Coney JEFFERSON, S.D. (April 23) – Five divisions of action kicked off the 2017 IMCA racing season at Raceway Park on Sunday night. The first feature of the evening saw defending champion Ramsey Meyer surge to the front in the early laps and go on to the win in the Z98 IMCA Sport Compact division. Action was wild behind Meyer, as positions were swapped lap by lap by the top six cars. Following Meyer under the checkered flag were Jake Newsome, Luke Jackson and Tyler Thompson. The CarQuest IMCA Hobby Stocks also saw a great battle for the opening night win. The driver on top at the end was David Miller, followed by defending champion Aaron Shearn, Tony Fetterman and Steven Pierce. Dirt Works continues title sponsorship of IMCA’s Eastern Region for fifth season

ORONOGO, Mo. – A chassis builder that has helped drivers win championships since the early days of the Modified division continues in a coveted sponsorship role in 2017. Dirt Works Race Cars returns for a fifth season as title sponsor of IMCA’s Eastern Region and will provide a portion of the $6,000 to be paid to top 10 drivers in final point standings for the region that includes sanctioned tracks and events in Alabama, Florida, Michigan and New York. RaceSaver Sprints make Boone Speedway debut

By Joyce Eisele BOONE, Iowa (April 22) – Boone Speedway held its season opener on Saturday night and the pits were packed with 143 race cars, including IMCA RaceSaver Sprints for the first time. Michael Moore secured the first-ever weekly race victory in the division. He passed Mike Houseman at lap 11 of the 20-lap event and never looked back. Kaleb Johnson was the runner-up and Houseman finished third. Sixteen Sprints were entered. The winged class last ran at Boone at the 2009 IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s. Gatlin Leytham led the entire 20-lap IMCA Modified feature to win for the first time in his career in the division. Jimmy Gustin chased him from the beginning but had his final attempt for a pass fail when he lost a wheel on the white flag lap.
