Murty Muscles Past Carter for Stock Car Thriller

By Kaden Krebs MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa (Aug. 8, 2025) — The Sunoco IMCA Stock Car main event at Marshalltown Speedway was the showstopper of the night, going 20 hard-fought laps. Ethan Atcheson and Dillon Solum brought the field to green, with Solum pacing the opening lap before a quick caution with 19 to go. Solum, Brayton Carter, and Dallon Murty staged an early three-way fight for the top spot until another yellow at lap 16 bunched them again. Carter pounced on the restart, taking the lead with 15 to go, but Murty stayed in striking distance. After a final caution with five laps left, Murty and Carter pulled away from the pack, with David Brandiss and Jimmy Gustin joining the scrap in the closing laps. Murty outdueled Carter at the stripe to back up his win from the previous week — his sixth Stock Car victory of 2025, two of them at Marshalltown and five in the EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region. Carter, Brandiss, Gustin, and Solum completed the top five. Berry Jr. Bests Murty in Modified [Read More]

Dodson Scores 2025’s First PASS Three-peat With Path Valley Score

By Frank Buhrman PATH VALLEY, Pa. (Aug. 9, 2025) — Doug Dodson became the River Valley Builders PA Sprint Series’ first three-time winner of 2025 Saturday night with a wire-to-wire victory in the extra-purse 25-lap feature at Path Valley Speedway. The veteran racer from Middletown, who also owns wins in other sprint divisions, won his heat race in the George Stevens no. 20. He then drew the pole for the feature and jumped out to the initial lead, but after a late caution, had to fend off a determined bid from Kyle Hart to seal the win. The checkered flag made Dodson PASS’s winningest driver so far this season, ahead of four other two-time winners and seven racers with a single victory. The win also came with one of the year’s biggest paydays for PASS competitors. Path Valley co-promoter and veterinarian Dr. Zach Crouse had increased the purse for last month’s Dr. Crouse’s Night of Power program, which was rained out and rescheduled for Saturday as another Dr. Crouse promotion. By Sheldon Wickwar HAYS, Kan. (Aug. 9, 2025) — The Karl Chevrolet IMCA Northern SportMod feature at RPM Speedway had a little extra on the line besides a trip to victory lane — household bragging rights. The two traded close-quarters laps with Gruber peeking low a few times but unable to get alongside. Paul Seizes Opportunity and Wins at Petaluma

By Ron Lingron PETALUMA, Calif. (Aug. 2, 2025) — A wild moment early in the Friesen Performance IMCA Modified main event at Petaluma Speedway turned into a winning opportunity for a familiar local name. Jeff Browne took command from the drop of the green on the 3/8-mile adobe clay at the Sonoma-Marin Fairgrounds, but the lead wouldn’t last long. Brother Tyler Browne quickly reeled him in and challenged for the top spot by lap three. The sibling battle came to a dramatic conclusion when the two tangled while racing down the backstretch. The contact sent Tyler into a frightening series of flips, but thankfully both drivers emerged from the wreckage unhurt. That opened the door for multi-time track champion Michael Paul Jr., who inherited the lead and never looked back. The hometown hero cruised the rest of the way to earn his second feature win of the season in the Shaw Race Cars Western Region — both triumphs coming at Petaluma. Chris Sieweke powered to a strong second-place finish, while 2021 track champion Michelle Byron completed [Read More]
