Tony Olson Tops Bald Tire Bash at Benton County

By Christine Rublack VINTON, Iowa (Aug. 3, 2025) — Tony Olson captured the IMCA Stock Car win during Sunday’s Bald Tire Bash at Benton County Speedway, powering to his eighth EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region victory of the season — and fourth at The Bullring — in a dominant drive through the field. Tommy Fain took command early in the event as Olson and Buck Schafroth moved into the top three. Olson worked the low groove to take the lead while Cole Czarneski challenged Schafroth for third. Once in front, Olson extended his advantage and never looked back, taking the checkers ahead of Fain and Czarneski. Wahoo Ends Shryock’s Streak in Stock Cars at Kossuth County

By Greg Grabianowski ALGONA, Iowa (July 31, 2025) — Kossuth County Speedway hosted a thrilling Thursday night program for the Harken/Hovinga Memorial Race. In the Sunoco IMCA Stock Car feature, Loren Pesicka Jr. took the early lead before giving way to Mike “Wahoo” Albertsen just two laps in. Behind him, a heated battle for second brewed between McCain Jennings, Kelly Shryock, David Wickman, Calvin Lange and Pesicka. Shryock eventually won that battle and slowly began reeling in Albertsen by the halfway point of the 20-lap main. With four laps remaining, Shryock was right on Albertsen’s rear bumper when a caution flew for a Zayn Feaster spin. Shryock threw everything he had at Albertsen on the restart, but the Audubon driver held his ground to score his second win of the season at Algona. The victory also snapped Shryock’s personal six-race win streak at the track. Albertsen now owns 10 overall wins in 2025, including eight in the EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region. Nigh Notches First 2025 Late Model Win in Wild Maquoketa Finish

By Jerry Mackey MAQUOKETA, Iowa (Aug. 2, 2025) — The Sunoco IMCA Late Models at Maquoketa Speedway saw front row starter Doug Nigh and 10th-starting Evan Miller swap the lead several times throughout the 25-lap feature. As the laps wound down with the two still battling for the top spot, a late race caution set up a three-lap dash to the finish. The lead pack behind Nigh was scrambled, and Logan Veloz made a last-minute charge to finish right on the heels of Nigh. Nigh scored his first win of the season, while Miller held on for third ahead of Bryce Garnhart. Hogge Gets Ocean Modified Win in Final Turn Thriller

(Aug. 2, 2025) — Bobby Hogge of Salinas extended his points lead in the Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds at Ocean Speedway, leading only the final corner for a thrilling victory in the 25-lap feature. Nevada’s Kaetlyn Robertson held off numerous challenges from Jacob Mallet Jr., withstanding the pressure to lead the first 13 laps of competition. Robert Marsh then drove past Mallet into second and took the lead from Robertson on lap 14. Hogge, who started seventh, followed Marsh through the field to take over the second spot. The duo ran nose to tail for the final 11 circuits. Marsh was slowed by lapped traffic coming into turn three on the final lap, allowing Hogge to dive underneath and steal the win out of turn four. Flippo Flies to Modified Win at Britt

By Chad Meyer BRITT, Iowa (Aug. 1, 2025) — Jerry Flippo dominated the Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature at Hancock County Speedway, scoring his first win at Britt this season. A past Night of 10,000 Stars champion, Flippo grabbed the lead early and never looked back en route to the checkers. The victory marked his second of the season in the Razor Chassis North Central Region. Jeremy Mills rallied from seventh to finish second but couldn’t run down the leader in the closing laps. Clint Hatlestad completed the podium. Heath Tulp, winner of night one Sunoco IMCA Stock Car action at Britt earlier this year, returned to victory lane Friday night. Friesen Performance IMCA Modified drivers from across the area will converge on the tight ¼-mile bullring, all chasing a $2,000 payday in the 40-lap main event. The action-packed program will feature a unique qualifying and scramble-based format. Swan Island Sheet Metal qualifying will see all competitors time in via pill draw order, with the fastest car drawing for an invert chip to set up the heat race grids. Bounty On IMCA Stocker Snellenberger at Eagle River Speedway on August 5

(Aug. 2, 2025) — Eagle River Speedway has placed a bounty on Wisconsin’s winningest Sunoco IMCA Stock Car driver – Pulaski’s “Hot Rod” Snellenberger – for the Tuesday, August 5 show at the Northwoods third-mile clay oval. Snellenberger, a two-time track champion at ERS, is undefeated this season with six feature wins in six appearances. Any IMCA Stock Car driver who can beat him on August 5 will receive a $300 bonus through the bounty. And that amount could increase before race night. To collect the bounty, Snellenberger must be running competitively and on the lead lap when the checkered flag flies. The track will use IMCA’s weekly point average system, so Snellenberger will likely start deep in the field — along with any out-of-town challengers looking to claim the bonus. Williamson Wires Cottage Grove Modified Midweek Mayhem

(July 30, 2025) — Kevin Williamson dominated Wednesday night’s 25-lap Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature at Cottage Grove Speedway, becoming the third different winner in as many rounds of the 2025 Midweek Mayhem Series. Piloting the Superior Fuel Cells-backed no. 42, the Coburg racer scored his second victory of the season at CGS and in the Shaw Race Cars Western Region. Williamson grabbed the lead on the opening start and quickly separated himself from the rest of the field. Suckow Scores First Stock Car Victory at Independence

By Christine Rublack INDEPENDENCE, Iowa (July 26, 2025) — Cole Suckow raced to his first-ever victory in a Sunoco IMCA Stock Car Saturday night at Independence Motor Speedway, taking charge early and never looking back. Riley Hanson and Brett Vanous waged a fierce battle for second with Tom Schmitt in close pursuit. As Hanson and Vanous ran side-by-side, Suckow extended his advantage and cruised to the checkers.
