Rasmussen Rallies to Second Straight California RaceSaver Win

(Apr. 12, 2025) — The California RaceSaver Sprint Series delivered a thriller Saturday night, where Clovis chauffeur Kyle Rasmussen charged from sixth to win the 25-lap RaceSaver IMCA Sprint Car main event at Bakersfield Speedway at Kevin Harvick’s Kern County Raceway. Rasmussen made his move into second just before Pombo hit lapped traffic. With the field bunching up ahead of the leader, Rasmussen seized his opportunity—sliding under Pombo to take command entering turn one on lap 16. From there, Rasmussen never looked back. He powered away from the pack to secure his second straight win with the California RaceSaver Series in as many events. Pombo held on for second, with Phil Heynan completing the podium in third. Getzschman Grabs First Career Late Model Win at Shelby County’s Igloo 25

By Don Hawkins HARLAN, Iowa (Apr. 12, 2025) — The Sunoco IMCA Late Models were on tap at Shelby County Speedway’s Igloo 25 with a $1,000-to-win main event, and it was 20-year-old Jarrett Getzschman who made headlines at the drop of the checkered flag. The Council Bluffs racer took full advantage of a front row starting spot and looked composed throughout the feature. After grabbing the lead near the halfway point, Getzschman held off a charging field of veterans to score his first-ever IMCA Late Model victory. Brett Hopp made a last-lap bid but had to settle for second, while Nebraskan Kale Kosiski rounded out the podium in third. Greenwood Leads Every Lap for Sprint Car Score Jake Greenwood dominated the RaceSaver IMCA Sprint Car main, leading every lap of the $1,000-to-win affair despite several stoppages—including a couple of red flags for flips. (Apr. 4, 2025) — On March 22nd this year, Bakersfield native Gavyn Manning embarked on what would become one of the most unforgettable nights of his young career. Competing at the Bill and Shirley Meyer Memorial at Mohave Valley Raceway in Bullhead City, Arizona, Manning flipped his car during hot laps—a chaotic beginning to what would soon become a rare and remarkable comeback story. “I was going to try and go to the top of the board in hot laps, but I didn’t realize how greasy the track was,” Manning explained. “I hit some grease going into turn three and blew off the top and rolled and ended on top of the tractor tires. The 27-race slate will span some of Indiana’s most iconic dirt tracks in tribute to the late Kevin Huntley—a Bloomington native, fan favorite, and racing legend affectionately known as “The Pup.”. Reimers Outduels Suckow in Epic SportMod Showdown at Boone

By Ben Deatherage BOONE, Iowa (April 5, 2025) — Cam Reimers emerged victorious in a back-and-forth battle with Cole Suckow to win Saturday’s 20-lap Karl Chevrolet IMCA Northern SportMod feature during the Iowa Frostbuster at “Iowa’s Action Track,” Boone Speedway. Suckow, the defending Independence Motor Speedway champion, led early after a tight duel with 2023 Harris Clash winner Reimers. The two traded the top spot multiple times through the middle portion of the race while navigating lapped traffic. A late caution with eight laps to go set up a dramatic finish. Reimers took the lead on lap 14, but Suckow answered a lap later. Reimers again surged ahead on lap 17, only for Suckow to reclaim it. Luinenburg Wins Wild Stock Car Showdown at Marshalltown Frostbuster

By Ben Deatherage MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa (Apr. 4, 2025) — Justin Luinenburg held off a pair of heavyweights in a dramatic finish to win the 25-lap Sunoco IMCA Stock Car feature at Marshalltown Speedway in the opening round of the 2025 Frostbuster series. The Reading, Minnesota, driver, a three-time Murray County Speedway track champion and 2015 Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stock National titleholder, fought off Maguire DeJong early and then survived a three-wide duel in the final corner. Three-time Marshalltown Stock Car titlist Steve Meyer gave chase early while Kelly Shryock worked into third in the Mike Hauan-owned Lake Mills Motorsports No. 3. Shryock, last year’s Super Nationals Stock Car winner, eventually battled with Meyer for second before two-time Super Nationals champ Dallon Murty joined the fray. Burkhart Steals One at The Line at RPM’s Sunflower Classic Finale

By Sheldon Wickwar HAYS, Kan. (Mar. 29, 2025) — The 20-lap Sunoco IMCA Stock Car main was one of the most stellar races on the final night of the 13th Annual Sunflower Classic at RPM Speedway. The feature began with Johnny Yutterman and Kolby Stegman on the front row, but it didn’t take long for Jason Rogers and Troy Burkhart to charge to the front. The veteran duo battled tightly and cleanly throughout the race. In the final corner, Burkhart surged past Rogers in a thrilling drag race to the finish — winning by less than eight hundredths of a second. Baca Outduels Shryock for Iowa Spring Nationals Modified Win

By Ben Deatherage SPENCER, Iowa (Mar. 28, 2025) — Two-time and reigning IMCA Modified National Champion Chaz Baca Jr. of Mesa, Arizona, opened his Razor Chassis North Central Region campaign with a win in the 20-lap Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature at Clay County Fair Speedway during the Iowa Spring Nationals. Baca led early after passing reigning Kossuth County Speedway champ Cody Knecht, but a misstep on lap eight allowed two-time Harris Clash winner Kelly Shryock to take over. Cody Thompson then grabbed second before Baca battled back, reclaiming the top spot with a slider in turn three on lap 15. After trading the lead once more, Baca secured the position for good on lap 16 and held off Shryock in traffic for his seventh win of the season. Shryock was second while Thompson finished third. Grabouski Doubles Up at Spring Nationals with Modified and Stock Car Wins

By Ben Deatherage BEATRICE, Neb. (Mar. 22, 2025) — For the third time since 2021, Jordan Grabouski left Beatrice Speedway’s Spring Nationals with two trophies in hand. The hometown standout scored victories in both the Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds and Sunoco IMCA Stock Cars at the 32nd edition of the prestigious event. The 30-lap Modified feature began with California’s Troy Morris III setting a fast pace. The 2024 Arizona IMCA Tour champion controlled the early stages while Iowa’s Izac Mallicoat and Grabouski battled for second. The five-time National Modified titlist and nine-time reigning points leader at Beatrice eventually secured second began reeling in Morris by the halfway mark. Hitting traffic just past the midpoint, Morris started to struggle with a lapped car which allowed for Grabouski to put pressure on him by lap 18.
