James Makes History as First-Ever Repeat Winner of Banks Mod Nationals

(Aug. 9, 2025) — Albany’s Bricen James became the first repeat winner of the Whisler Construction Banks Mod Nationals presented by Schram Brothers Excavating, scoring his second career win in the event with a $2,000-to-win 40-lap Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature triumph at Sunset Speedway Park. The two-time reigning IMCA Wild West Speedweek champion and 2019 Shaw Race Cars Western Region champion wheeled the Schram Motorsports no. 13 to his eighth win of the season in the region and first at the Banks Bullring in 2025. Six-time track champion and 2024 Oregon State titleholder Craig Cassell paced the opening lap before James used the bottom groove to take over down the backstretch. Anderson Sweeps Modified Mains on Championship Night at CJ Speedway

By Jerry Mackey COLUMBUS JUNCTION, Iowa (Aug. 8, 2025) — Season Championship Night at CJ Speedway also featured completion of the Larry Richardson Memorial features, postponed from July 24 during the Louisa County Fair. Those memorial races were run first, followed by the night’s championship events. In the Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds, Logan Anderson recorded a clean sweep, winning both the Larry Richardson Memorial and Season Championship features. Kurt Kile chased Anderson to the checkers in the first main, with Dan Brockert finishing third. In the Season Championship feature, Anderson again took the win, this time ahead of Scott Brau. Kile broke early in the championship race but had built enough of a points cushion to win the track title by just one point over Anderson. Gaylord Tops Friday Night of 1000 Stars at Britt

By Chad Meyer BRITT, Iowa (Aug. 8, 2025) — Tripp Gaylord started the 31-lap, 31st annual Night of 1000 Stars IMCA Modified main at Hancock County Speedway — paying $2,000 to win — on the outside of row four. The event also served as the fifth race of the 2025 Iowa Speedweek. Gaylord steadily marched his way to the front, settling in behind early race leader Brandon Beckendorf. The top two swapped first and second several times until Gaylord assumed command in the later stages. Their run through lapped traffic got intense, but Gaylord held on to take the checkers for his second Night of 1000 Stars win, his first coming in 2021. Beckendorf finished second, followed by Cody Laney, Clint Hatlestad, and Kelly Shryock. (Aug. 8, 2025) — In Brewster, Minnesota — a small town of just over 500 residents with deep railroad roots — Cory Probst has built a racing career that’s anything but small. The driver of the No. 75C Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stock reached an extraordinary milestone on August 2 at Arlington Raceway, claiming his 300th feature win. For Probst, the historic night came on familiar ground. His 100th win was at Arlington on June 23, 2018. His 200th win came at the same track on June 18, 2022. It’s a place where he has collected some of his biggest moments — and a track that still brings out the best in him. “Arlington is one of my favorite tracks,” Probst said. “It’s a big half-mile with room to move. Rust Dominates Modified Main at Spencer for First Salute To Vets Tour Triumph

By Ben Deatherage SPENCER, Iowa (Aug. 6, 2025) — Joel Rust showed the way in the Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature at Clay County Fair Speedway, collecting his first-ever Hunting With Heroes Salute To Veterans Tour presented by Performance Bodies and Parts victory. The win came during the third night of Iowa Speedweek and also served as the Clay County Clash. The 20-lap, $2,000-to-win contest marked Rust’s third triumph of the season in the Razor Chassis North Central Region, each at a different track. Rust, from Grundy Center, took the lead from the drop of the green and built a commanding advantage before a caution on lap 14 gave second-running Brandon Beckendorf one final shot. But Rust, a two-time Benton County Speedway champion and 2016 Harris Clash winner, was unfazed and pulled away on the restart for a dominant win. Frederick Nabs Eagle River Bounty Loot

By Joe Verdegan EAGLE RIVER, Wis. (Aug. 5, 2025) — Kyle Frederick played the role of bounty hunter Tuesday night at Eagle River Speedway. The Oconto Falls racer collected the Sunoco IMCA Stock Car feature win at the third-mile clay oval and pocketed a $1,000 bounty for ending Rod Snellenberger’s undefeated streak. Snellenberger had been six-for-six in his 2025 visits to Eagle River. The win marked Frederick’s second EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region victory of the season, each at a different track. Frederick powered into the lead from the pole on the initial start of the 20-lap contest. Snellenberger, who started fifth, quickly worked his way to third by lap four, then passed Dustin White for second on lap six. Frederick had built a four-car length cushion by the time a caution flew on lap 13 for a Nick Pagac spin. On the restart, Frederick held firm out front. Snellenberger stayed close but couldn’t make the move for the lead and had to settle for runner-up honors. White completed the podium in third.

Braaksma Blasts to First Harris Clash Crown in Modifieds

The 34th annual edition paid $4,000 to the winner and marked the first time the Harris Clash had been held at Iowa’s Action Track since 1994 and the first Iowa-hosted Clash since 2017. Thompson Powers to Victory at Buena Vista Raceway to Open Iowa Speedweek

By Ben Deatherage ALTA, Iowa (Aug. 4, 2025) — Cody Thompson kicked off Iowa Speedweek in style, charging from 10th to win the Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature on opening night of the Battle of the Beaver at Buena Vista Raceway. It was his sixth win of the season in the Razor Chassis North Central Region and second trip to victory lane at Alta in 2025, joining last month’s Kyle Suter Memorial triumph. Minnesota’s Jesse Rogotzke led the opening 13 circuits before a caution reset the field. Wisconsin’s Cole Czarneski, defending 141 Speedway Modified and Sunoco IMCA Stock Car champion, took command on the restart and held off Rogotzke’s counterattack before another yellow slowed the action.
