Trumbo trumps Thomas County Sport Compact feature

By Sheldon Wickwar COLBY, Kan. (May 24, 2024) – Hard charger Ted Trumbo started the parade to victory lane in the Memorial Weekend show at Thomas County Speedway. Trumbo warmed up for the Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compact main event by winning his heat race. James Bader and Tyson Plumisto drew front row starts for the main event but Kyle Benoit grabbed the race lead and ran up front before a caution. The restart was chaotic, and Madison Reed was able to get to the lead by lap four; lap five saw the sixth starting Trumbo get to second. Reed and Trumbo battled closely for the remainder of the feature with Trumbo gaining the lead on lap 10 and taking the win. Second was Reed and third was Kyle Mortensen. IMCA anniversary wins at Boone go to Berry, Anderson

There were 172 cars checked in for the Memorial Day Holiday weekend event that included extra money on the line for the Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds, celebrating their 45th anniversary and the Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods, celebrating 19 years of racing. It was also a Stealth Racing Corn Belt Clash race for the IMCA STARS Mod Lites. It was Tom Berry Jr. taking top honors in the IMCA Modifieds, in an exciting race for the fans that witnessed a “slide fest.” Austin Bouzek got his first win at the track when he took the checkers in the IMCA Sunoco Stock car “A” main. Mills, Jerovetz, Fett, Krug are victors at Britt

By Chad Meyer BRITT, Iowa (May 24, 2024) – Though the area was water-logged, Hancock County Speedway roared to life Friday night with great racing action sponsored by Toot’s Trucking and Pritchard Family Auto Stores. In the Stars, Stripes and Sirens special, three first-time IMCA winners at the track in 2024 graced victory lane. Jeremy Mills used the top side of the track to score his first win at the speedway this season in the Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds. He fended off a couple strong charges by second place finisher Tim Ward who was making time on the inside through turns one and two. Already Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational qualifying eligible, Mills banked $1,000 for his career 137th win in the class. County fair checkers are IMCA first for Connelly

(May 18, 2024) – Antioch Speedway fans were treated to two nights of racing during the annual Contra Costa County Fair with Saturday offered a trio of exciting IMCA sanctioned races. This included the first win for Dylan Connelly in the Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMod main event, Kellen Chadwick in the Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds and Travis Dutra in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars. Connelly had come close on multiple occasions during the previous two IMCA SportMod seasons. On Saturday, he refused to let any of the yellow flag situations cost him a well-earned win. Connelly took the lead from Kelly Campanile with a turn four pass on the second lap. Jason Ryan Jr. quickly settled into second. Fred Ryland settled into third on the fourth lap but he spun for a lap six yellow flag. Saturday IMCA feature wins are especially sweet at Eagle

Legg led Tyler Jackson, Thomas Etherton and Jeremy Down in taking the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car checkers at America’s Home Track. “I won a lot of races in a SportMod here and then quit racing after 2015. Uehling rules Off Road IMCA Hobby Stock feature

(May 18, 2024) – Half a car length made the difference between a W and second-place in Saturday’s IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock feature at Off Road Speedway. In the closest race of the night, Uehling edged Jason Wilkinson at the flag stand by a half-car length for a win. Uehling, who started on the outside of row one, led all 15 laps with Wilkinson in pursuit the entire race. The pair repeatedly pulled away from the field, even following a caution with just six laps remaining, and Wilkinson increased the pressure each of the final trips around the track. Wilkinson closed the gap coming out of turn four the last time around, then pulled alongside Uehling briefly on the backstretch but would get no closer than Uehling’s door as the cars passed the flag stand. ARLINGTON, Minn. (May 18, 2024) – Cole Hesse became a first-time winner, on a night of firsts Saturday at Arlington Raceway. The Gibbon hotshoe made the most of the lower line, made his way to the front of the field by lap five and then made his way to victory lane following his career-first Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMod victory. “Definitely down low was fastest, and it seemed like (turns) one and two were better for me,” said Hesse, who would pull away to a two second advantage before the end of the race. “I’ve got one trophy now and hopefully I can add more. VINTON, Iowa (May 19, 2024) – Rain may have caused a delay, but it didn’t put a damper on Sunday’s racing program at Benton County Speedway. A rain shower that started as the first heat of the night hit the track forced a delay of more than an hour. When the skies cleared, it was business as usual at The Bullring. Jeff Aikey found success in the Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds.
