Probst Gets 300th Career Win in Hobby Stocks at Arlington

By Susan Allen ARLINGTON, Minn. (Aug. 2, 2025) — History was made during the Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stock feature, as Cory Probst recorded his 300th career IMCA feature win with a late-race charge to victory. Early leader Dan Scharpe paced the field until a second-lap caution for Patrick Oestreich. At the same time, Chad Volk got into a tire and headed to the work area, then rejoined the field at the back. On the restart, Scott Porter controlled the high side while Probst methodically worked his way forward.  After another yellow on lap seven for Volk, Probst found momentum up top and swept past Porter to take over the point. Brad Becker made two strong bids to get under Probst in the final circuits but had to settle for second, with Porter taking third. The win was Probst’s 27th of the season in the B&B Racing Chassis Northern Region. Gatton Goes Wire-to-Wire in Sport Compact Show Dale Gatton led every lap of the Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compact feature. Duke Dominates at Hagerstown

By Jim Haines HAGERSTOWN, Md. (Aug. 2, 2025) — Just one night after parking it in victory lane at Clinton County Speedway, Ken Duke Jr. made it two in a row by cruising to another Virginia Sprint Series win Saturday at Hagerstown Speedway. The event, co-sanctioned with the Laurel Highlands Sprint Series, drew a strong field of 22 RaceSaver IMCA Sprint Cars. Ryan Lynn and Josh Shantz led the field to green with Shantz jumping out front early and Lynn settling into second. But Duke was on the move from the drop of the flag, quickly working his way forward. Following a lap two caution for a quick spin, Shantz led the restart, but Duke wasted no time charging low to grab the lead. Once out front, he began to check out from the rest of the field, while the Weaver brothers — Kolby and Kasey — started climbing the leaderboard behind him. Kolby Weaver made his way to second, with Kasey eventually slipping past Lynn to take third. Stevie Kenawell also began slicing his way [Read More]

Heffner Wins With Late Pass at Big Diamond

By Frank Buhrman MINERSVILLE, Pa. (Aug. 1, 2025) — Kenny Heffner was in the right place at the right time, and it earned the Watsontown veteran his second River Valley Builders PA Sprint Series win of 2025 in Friday night’s 20-lap feature at Big Diamond Speedway. Heffner had spent most of the race trailing Mike Alleman, who was looking for his first PASS win in decades after ending a long winless streak earlier this year in a Laurel Highlands Sprint Series event. Alleman built a sizeable lead, but Heffner began steadily cutting into the margin over the final six laps. Then, just a quarter-lap before taking the white flag, Alleman drifted high in turn four, opening the door for Heffner to sneak by on the inside. Moments later, Jeff Weaver spun in the same corner, triggering a caution and setting up a one-lap shootout for the win. Heffner held his ground on the restart and crossed the finish line with a one-second advantage. The victory made him the fourth two-time PASS winner of the season. Alleman’s [Read More]

Young Lasso’s Sprint Car Field at Winchester

By Jim Haines WINCHESTER, Va. (July 26, 2025) – Drew Young spent years on the rodeo circuit, but on Saturday night, it was horsepower of a different kind that he wrangled. The former rodeo cowboy turned racer put a lasso on the field at Winchester Speedway, scoring his first RaceSaver IMCA Sprint Car victory of the season in Virginia Sprint Series competition. The event was co-sanctioned with the Laurel Highlands and PASS Sprint Series under hot and humid skies at the Northern Virginia clay oval. Young and Matthew Leach brought the field to green in the main event. Young shot to the front early, with Leach dropping into second while Ryan Lynn, A.J. Barton, and Landon Price followed closely behind. The laps clicked by quickly as Young found a rhythm and held Leach at bay until a stalled car brought out a quick yellow to bunch the field back up. On the restart, Young returned to his groove and kept the field behind him, lap after lap. A second yellow for a spin set up a [Read More]

Loverude Wins Modified Thriller by Inches at Arlington

By Susan Allen ARLINGTON, Minn. (July 26, 2025) – The Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature had the fans at Arlington Raceway on the edge of their seats with five different leaders in a race packed with drama. Jason Schroeder led the opening lap, but Todd Stinehart, who started eighth, wasted no time and took over on lap two. Trent Loverude, racing with a broken foot, worked his way into the battle by lap six, trading the lead back and forth with Stinehart. Clint Hatlestad was also right there, making it a thrilling three-way contest. A caution on lap 14 flew when Wayne Govig spun and collected J.J. Reimers. On the restart, Hatlestad powered around Stinehart, setting up a showdown with Loverude. The two exchanged the top spot three different times on the final lap alone. Coming out of turn four, Hatlestad appeared to have it—but at the line, it was the fifth starting Loverude scoring the win by mere inches. It was his sixth Razor Chassis North Central Region win of 2025, five of which have [Read More]

By Greg Soukup EAGLE, Neb. (July 26, 2025) — Tanner Dowty led the early charge in the Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stock feature, with Nick Jensen, Brad Burhenne, and Matt Rotschafer battling behind. Burhenne moved into second on lap three, while Eric Chab and Dillon Richards methodically advanced through the pack. A caution involving Rotschafer and Ben Becher tightened the field on lap six, and on the restart Richards blasted to the lead. Burhenne faded as Brayden Hurley climbed to third, then second. Hurley passed Chab for the runner-up spot on the final lap, but Richards was long gone. With the win, Richards upped his 2025 total to 11 victories in 12 starts at Eagle and now boasts 36 wins in the division in 2025—28 in the B&B Racing Chassis Northern Region.
