Loverude Wins Modified Thriller by Inches at Arlington

By Susan Allen ARLINGTON, Minn. (July 26, 2025) – The Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature had the fans at Arlington Raceway on the edge of their seats with five different leaders in a race packed with drama. Jason Schroeder led the opening lap, but Todd Stinehart, who started eighth, wasted no time and took over on lap two. Trent Loverude, racing with a broken foot, worked his way into the battle by lap six, trading the lead back and forth with Stinehart. Clint Hatlestad was also right there, making it a thrilling three-way contest. A caution on lap 14 flew when Wayne Govig spun and collected J.J. Reimers. On the restart, Hatlestad powered around Stinehart, setting up a showdown with Loverude. The two exchanged the top spot three different times on the final lap alone. Coming out of turn four, Hatlestad appeared to have it—but at the line, it was the fifth starting Loverude scoring the win by mere inches. It was his sixth Razor Chassis North Central Region win of 2025, five of which have [Read More]

Richards Charges from 12th to Eagle Raceway Hobby Stock Victory

By Greg Soukup EAGLE, Neb. (July 26, 2025) — Tanner Dowty led the early charge in the Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stock feature, with Nick Jensen, Brad Burhenne, and Matt Rotschafer battling behind. Burhenne moved into second on lap three, while Eric Chab and Dillon Richards methodically advanced through the pack. A caution involving Rotschafer and Ben Becher tightened the field on lap six, and on the restart Richards blasted to the lead. Burhenne faded as Brayden Hurley climbed to third, then second. Hurley passed Chab for the runner-up spot on the final lap, but Richards was long gone. With the win, Richards upped his 2025 total to 11 victories in 12 starts at Eagle and now boasts 36 wins in the division in 2025—28 in the B&B Racing Chassis Northern Region. Harker Hustles to Third Modified Win of the Year The Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature opened with a back-and-forth battle among Aaron Pella, Tyler Harr, Clint Homan, and Jaxon Saathoff. Probst Prevails in Hobby Stock Thriller at Arlington

By Susan Allen ARLINGTON, Minn. (July 19, 2025) — A first lap yellow flag during the Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stock feature didn’t set the pace very well for the night. Dan Scharpe had troubles when his rear end locked up, sending him to the pit area for the night. Taylor Manderfield led the first four laps of the race before another yellow flew after contact between Ben Davis and Chad Volk. Both drivers were able to resume, but Davis restarted at the tail. That gave Cory Probst the opportunity he needed to get around both Manderfield and Blake Luinenburg to take the lead. Yet another yellow came out when R.J. Esquada’s hood blew off while running second, forcing him to retire. The restart opened the door for Luinenburg to challenge for the lead, but he and Probst battled to the finish with Probst coming out on top. Luinenburg was second and Volk raced his way back to third. Probst now owns 22 wins in the B&B Racing Chassis Northern Region, five of which have come at [Read More]

Dodson Powerful in Port Royal Win

By Frank Buhrman PORT ROYAL, Pa. (July 19, 2025) — Doug Dodson’s starting position – outside of the second row – presented an opportunity the veteran racer from Middletown wasn’t going to pass up. On the initial start of Saturday’s 20-lap River Valley Builders Pennsylvania Sprint Series feature at Port Royal Speedway, Dodson quickly moved into second place and was challenging early leader Mike Melair when the caution flew on lap three for Croix Beasom, who flipped at the fourth turn end of the frontstretch. Melair fired off strong on the restart, but Dodson wasted no time getting back to work. Just two laps later, he executed a clean slide job in turns one and two to take the lead—a position he never gave back. Dodson, smooth in traffic over the final four laps, cruised to the checkered flag for his 11th career PASS win, crossing 1.705 seconds ahead of last week’s Port Royal winner Josh Spicer. Spicer stormed from seventh to second, passing Melair on the final circuit. Melair, piloting the Rod Ort-owned entry, settled [Read More]

Richards Rallies From 17th to Victory in Wild Eagle Stock Car Feature

By Greg Soukup EAGLE, Neb. (July 19, 2025) — It took three tries to get the feature going for the Sunoco IMCA Stock Cars at Eagle Raceway, and when it finally did, it turned into one of the most thrilling races of the night. A massive seven-car pileup in turn four on the original start and a second pileup on the restart shook up the field early. Once the action finally found rhythm, Travis Patterson took command with Dana Deeke and Tim Drake following. But the driver to watch was Mason Richards, who charged from his 17th starting spot like a man on a mission. Richards steadily reeled in the leaders and took control with six circuits to go, overcoming an early 1.4-second gap to Patterson. Chad Andersen mounted a late rally of his own, swapping spots with Deeke as the two battled hard for third. At the line, Richards secured his sixth EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region victory of the season and third Stock Car win at Eagle in 2025. Patterson and Andersen were second [Read More]

Spicer Breaks Through with PASS at Port Royal

By Frank Buhrman PORT ROYAL, Pa. (Jul. 12, 2025) — Josh Spicer is a proven frontrunner, with multiple wins to his credit, but in 86 prior starts with the River Valley Builders PA Sprint Series dating back to 2018, his best finishes were a pair of seconds. Saturday night at Port Royal Speedway, the racer from Julian – in Centre County just northwest of State College – took care of that issue and became the fourth racer to score his first ever PASS victory in 2025, leading all the way to claim the 20-lap feature. Spicer used the outside line to grab the early lead from his second starting position, with Friday night’s Selinsgrove winner Ken Duke Jr. following him. On lap eight, the defending PASS Champion slowed with engine failure. That moved Drew Young into the runner-up slot, and he would challenge Spicer on this and each subsequent restart, but Spicer was not to be denied. On lap 10, Tyler Schell and Dustin Young tangled, with Young hitting the outside wall between turns three and [Read More]
