Murty scores $1,000 Stock Car win at Benton County Speedway

VINTON, Iowa (June 11, 2023) – Dallon Murty earned a $1,000 payday Sunday night at Benton County Speedway. Murty came out on top of a multi-car battle to take top honors in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars presented by Christie Door Company. From his fourth row starting spot, Murty raced the low groove into contention and pressured Brett Vanous for the top spot in that 20-lapper. With Vanous protecting the low groove, Murty changed lanes and attempted to challenge from the high side, which allowed a number of others to close in and battle for the lead. Damon Murty and Gage Neal were the strongest of the lot as the four drivers swapped positions and racing grooves at the front of the pack. Halstead drives to first IMCA Late Model win of 2023 at Lee County

By Brian Neal DONNELLSON, Iowa (June 9, 2023) – Round four of the Iowa Corn Growers Association’s Drive For 5 at Lee County Speedway saw Sam Halstead race to his first IMCA Sunoco Late Model feature win of the season. Halstead and Mark Burgtorf drew the front row for the 25-lapper. Halstead led Nick Marolf and Burgtorf early, working the bottom of the track while Marolf went to the top to try and grab the top spot away. Marolf slipped by for the lead on lap 11 but coming off turn four to complete lap 14, Halstead drove back under Marolf to get the top spot back. Despite lapped traffic over the final laps, Halstead held on for his first win of the season at Donnellson, which happened to be worth $1,000. Rookie Czarneski races to first IMCA Modified win

By Edward Anschutz SEYMOUR, Wis. (June 9, 2023) – Rookie Cole Czarneski raced to his career first Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature win Friday at Outagamie Speedway. Czarneski rocketed from his front row starting spot, building a sizable advantage over Marcus Yarie. Midway through the contest Yarie began to close in as Czarneski worked through lapped traffic. With five laps to go, Yarie made his move down low as Czarneski was locked behind a lapped car. The pass was for naught however as the lone caution flew. Once in clean air on the restart, Czarneski pulled away for his first feature win in the IMCA Modifieds. Yarie raced with a lot of respect and took second, Wyatt Block was third and Benji LaCrosse rounded out the top five. A $1,000 payday awaited the winner of the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car main event. Burns, Opheim make long-awaited returns to victory lane

By Greg Grabianowski ALGONA, Iowa (June 8, 2023) – It has been awhile since James Burns and Kevin Opheim have pulled their cars into victory lane as both drivers enjoyed that pleasure on Thursday to highlight an exciting night of dirt track racing at Kossuth County Speedway. Burns earned his first IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock feature win in the past three years and his second overall, while Opheim picked up win no. 60 in Algona in his career, but his IMCA Sunoco Stock Car first since June 7, 2018. The Hobby Stock feature saw Micah Lavrenz as the first car to go past the flag stand after the first lap as Doug Wickman took over the top spot two laps later. IMCA Stock Cars highlight Super Sunday at Benton County Speedway

VINTON, Iowa (June 6, 2023) – A $1,000 winner’s share will showcase a busy Super Sunday this weekend at Benton County Speedway. IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars presented by Christie Door Company will do battle for a $1,000 top prize in their draw/redraw event Sunday, June 11 at The Bullring. There is no entry fee for the Stock Cars, which will pay $100 to start the Super Sunday main event, and earn the winner qualifying eligibility for the B&B Racing Chassis All-Star Invitational at this year’s Speedway Motors IMCA Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s. Larson, Larsen are Saturday winners at Arlington

ARLINGTON, Minn. (June 3, 2023) – They’re the seventh- and 54th-most common surnames in Minnesota but Larson or Larsen, however you spell it, was the most popular name in victory lane Saturday night at Arlington Raceway. Eric Larson was the Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMod winner and Josh Larsen the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car winner. Eric Larson started outside second row and by turn two was leading the SportMod main. Broddy Enter, who had started right behind him was trying to catch him but on lap seven Joey Reimers spun and brought out a yellow flag and a restart. On the restart, both Matt Looft and Zac Davis got around Enter but Larson was holding strong to his front position. Another yellow flag came out when Zach Malchow spun. Blume, Bahrs, LeBarge add names to Maquoketa Speedway winners list

By Jerry Mackey MAQUOKETA, Iowa (June 3, 2023) – Maquoketa Speedway hosted the fifth night of the 2023 season Saturday on an a very warm night for early June. The racing action was outstanding with lots of close finishes on a very racy ¼-mile track. The Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds saw a first-time winner for the 2023 season make his way to victory lane. Austin Blume drove a perfect race riding the extreme high groove besting a strong field. Blume took command early from his second row start and led the 20-lap main for 18 laps in the race that went caution-free. Jeff Larson advanced from the fourth row to take second ahead of Ryan Duhme. Jason Bahrs also scored his first win of the season at Maquoketa topping the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars. Oenning drives to first IMCA Late Model win at Donnellson

By Brian Neal DONNELLSON, Iowa (June 2, 2023) – A busy night of IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing took place at the Lee County Speedway on Friday with Darkside Tint & Graphix helping to bring all the action. When the final checkered flag waved at 10:10 p.m., one driver had claimed his first career win, two drivers earned their first of the season at Donnellson and two more were repeat winners. The 25-lap IMCA Sunoco Late Model feature saw Ed Hollenbeck and Blaire Barton lead the field to green. Hollenback led on lap one over Ray Raker and Sam Halstead. As Hollenbeck worked the bottom, Raker went to the top to try and get by. On lap eight, Raker used the momentum off the top of turn four to grab the top spot away from Hollenbeck. Keller takes care of IMCA Modified business at Dacotah’s Iron Man

MANDAN, N.D. (June 3, 2023) – Jeremy Keller followed his game plan to the letter Saturday night at Dacotah Speedway. As a result, the two-time race runner-up became the first-time winner of Mandan’s 100-lap Iron Man main event for Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds. “It was a long race but it went by fast. It was a big night for us, that’s for sure,” Keller said following the career-best $5,000 checkers. “We were determined. We tested stuff this spring to see how we could be most competitive at the end.
