Sproul Wins Modified Thriller At WaKeeney

(May 17, 2025) — WaKeeney Speedway brought the curtain down on the John Fose Memorial/Wall of Fame Weekend with a Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature that lived up to the occasion. Jeremy Frenier took command early, storming to the lead as the field settled in behind him. But Daniel Gottschalk soon reeled him in, making the pass after a few circuits to take over the top spot. As the race reached the midway point, a four-car shootout began to take shape with Gottschalk, Frenier, Kyle Rohleder, and Dakota Sproul all in the mix. Gottschalk’s time out front was cut short when Rohleder powered to the lead, but Sproul was just hitting his stride. Methodically working the track, Sproul closed in and made a dramatic last lap pass on Rohleder to secure his second Jet Racing Central Region victory of the season. (May 16, 2025) — The Sunoco IMCA Stock Car feature on night one of the John Fose Memorial and Wall of Fame Weekend at WaKeeney Speedway delivered a memorable performance to honor one of Kansas racing’s most beloved figures. With a front row led by Bill Brack and Garrett Hager, the 20-lap main event quickly came to life when Brett Berry powered his way through a three-wide opening corner to seize the early lead. Meyer Snatches Last-Lap Modified Win at Kossuth County

By Greg Grabianowski ALGONA, Iowa (May 15, 2025) — Nick Meyer executed a last-lap pass to capture a thrilling Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature at Kossuth County Speedway, earning his first win of the season in the Razor Chassis North Central Region. Meyer patiently worked his way to the front, gradually closing in on leader Todd Stinehart over the final laps. Stinehart, who had led from the drop of the green, bobbled coming out of turn four on the final circuit, opening the door for Meyer to slip underneath and steal the victory by half a car length at the flag stand. Kierstad Powers to Redemption Win in SportMods at North Central

(May 10, 2025) — North Central Speedway witnessed a dominant performance in the Karl Chevrolet IMCA Northern SportMods as Jake Kierstad of Sartell finally turned his luck around. After leading the most laps in each feature this year only to suffer mechanical DNFs, Kierstad led from the start and never looked back, cruising to his first win of the season. Devon Charpenter and Dave Siercks rounded out the podium. An early caution for Corey Hill Jr.’s mechanical failure and another for a tangle between Anthony Sabinash and Jacob Jordan did little to slow Kierstad’s march to victory as he drove away to a commanding win. Murty Survives Late Race Drama to Take Stock Car Dirt Duel

By Ben Deatherage STUART, Iowa (May 14, 2025) — Dallon Murty made the most of his father Damon’s ride Wednesday night at Stuart Speedway, capturing the $2,000 payday in the Sunoco IMCA Stock Car portion of the Dynamic Drivelines Dirt Duel. The Chelsea native surged past Dillon Solum for the lead on a lap seven restart after Solum and Buck Schafroth battled intensely for the top spot in the opening laps. Schafroth, the two-time defending track champion, fended off several slider attempts from Solum before the Oregon transplant finally found a way around him on the seventh circuit. Murty appeared to be in control until a lap 21 caution erased his sizable advantage. A brush with oil in turn three nearly cost him the win as the fluid brought out the yellow, setting up a green-white-checkered finish. Anniversary Races Memorial Day Weekend At Three Iowa Tracks — Marshalltown, Boone, and Benton County

By Ben Deatherage VINTON, Iowa (May 14, 2025) — Memorial Day weekend will be a special one in Iowa as three of some of the state’s most prestigious tracks host races to commemorate the 46th Anniversary of Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds and the 20th Anniversary of the Karl Chevrolet IMCA Northern SportMods. The weekend kicks off on Friday, May 23 at Marshalltown Speedway, before moving west to Boone Speedway on Saturday night. The action wraps up Sunday at the birthplace of IMCA in Vinton, where Benton County Speedway will host the series finale. Olmstead Cashes in at RPM with Hobby Stock Victory

The B&B Racing Chassis Northern Region standout secured his seventh victory of the season in ten starts, taking command late in the 20-lap main event after a bobble by Dylan Bell opened the door.
