Tocci Cruises to Second Straight Modified Win at ECS

By Ben Deatherage GREAT FALLS, Mont. (May 3, 2025) — Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds took center stage at Electric City Speedway for a 20-lap main event. Kolby Hannah managed to outmaneuver Jordan Tocci to lead the opening circuit, but Tocci, the two-time reigning Gallatin Speedway champion from Three Forks, swiftly reclaimed the top spot on lap four. From there, Tocci began to pull away as Hannah and David Davis battled for second. A mid-race caution on lap 10 regrouped the field, but Tocci proved untouchable on the restart, driving away to secure his second straight victory at ECS and in the Shaw Race Cars Western Region. Hannah held on to finish second, while 2022 Region champion Ty Clemens charged from 11th to complete the podium in third. Bree Wonch Outduels Husband Austin for Memorable First Modified Victory

(May 3, 2025) — The Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature at Crystal Motor Speedway delivered a career-defining moment for Lady Eagle racer Bree Wonch, who stormed to her first-ever victory in the DeVilbiss Racing Eastern Region. After a daring pass on the bottom of turn four on lap 4, she surged to the lead and began to distance herself from the field. Despite a mid-race caution erasing her substantial advantage, Wonch nailed the restart and once again pulled away. Behind her, husband Austin Wonch, the 2019 Crystal track champion, worked his way into second, setting up a family one-two finish that brought the Crystal crowd to its feet. On Sunday, May 4th, that dream became reality with a $1,000 victory at Concordia Raceway, a track just 25 miles from his home. The triumph wasn’t just another checkered flag—it was his 100th career win in the Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stocks, a milestone that places him among the elite. “This is something I’ve always dreamed of,” Williams said. “To be in the 100-win group is awesome. Clay Claims Victory in SportMod Feature at El Paso County

(May 3, 2025) — A strong field of 12 drivers packed the pits of El Paso County Raceway for the Karl Chevrolet IMCA Northern SportMod division, and when the dust settled in the feature, it was Scott Clay of Colorado Springs parking his machine in victory lane. Starting from the pole, Clay led wire-to-wire, fending off heavy pressure in the closing laps to seal the win. His heat win earlier in the evening set the tone for a dominant performance. Inaugural RaceSaver Speedweek Set for May 21-25 Across Arkansas and Texas

By Ben Deatherage VINTON, Iowa (May 7, 2025) — For the first time ever, RaceSaver IMCA Sprint Cars will headline a five-night, five-track Speedweek spanning Arkansas and Texas from May 21 through May 25. The tour opens on Wednesday, May 21 at 67 Speedway in Texarkana, followed by Rocket Raceway Park in Petty on Thursday, Hunt County Raceway in Greenville on Friday, RPM Speedway in Crandall on Saturday, and concludes at Heart O’ Texas Speedway in Elm Mott on Sunday. Each night, Sprint Car drivers will race for $1,500 to win and $250 to start, with a championship point fund paying the top ten finishers. The Speedweek champion will collect $2,000, with $1,400 awarded to the runner-up and $1,250 for third. Christensen Claims First-Ever Stock Car Win in Wild Shelby County Feature

By Don Hawkins HARLAN, Iowa (May 3, 2025) — Riley Christensen thrilled the Shelby County Speedway crowd with a dramatic breakthrough victory in the Sunoco IMCA Stock Cars, leading the final laps of a wild feature that included multiple lead changes, a tangle between frontrunners, and a green-white-checkered finish. Christensen, of Audubon, grabbed the point on lap 1 but was reeled in by Mike Vondrak and Larry Robinson Jr. midway through the race. Vondrak snuck underneath to lead lap 10, but a caution changed everything. Robinson made a move on the restart and got around Vondrak in turn three, but the two made contact, bringing out another caution. Vondrak came to a stop, handing the lead back to Christensen. The two-time Nebraska State champion went toe-to-toe with Wisconsin’s Cole Czarneski in an edge-of-your-seat battle that set the tone for a thrilling 30-lap finale at Clay County Fair Speedway. Czarneski briefly led on lap 3 and their door-to-door duel allowed IMCA TV Winter Nationals champion Shelby Williams to enter the fray. Former Williston Basin champion Chris Tuchscherer led early until a lap 6 caution reset the field at the “Playground of Power” and opened the door for a challenge. That opportunity came from Minot’s own Brock Beeter, a three-time North Dakota State Hobby Stock champion and 2023 Karl Chevrolet IMCA Northern SportMod track titlist. Beeter rolled the inside to perfection and edged ahead of Tuchscherer on lap 7. (May 3, 2025) — The Karl Chevrolet IMCA Northern SportMods kicked off feature action with one of the night’s most intense races at Shawano Speedway, where a steady Friday night rain had soaked the infield and left a heavy layer of clay on the legendary half-mile. Thanks to diligent work from the track crew throughout Saturday, the surface was race-ready by nightfall—and Jeffery Teske was ready to capitalize. Teske surged into the lead on lap 2, getting around Michael Springborn early and building a comfortable cushion. The night’s headliner was a dramatic Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature, where five-time National champion Jordan Grabouski stormed from 11th starting to first in a late-race thriller. A three-wide scrap for the lead broke out between Kelly Shryock, Chaz Baca Jr., and Ricky Stephan in the early laps, with Shryock gaining the initial advantage.
