By Rif Clair PARAGOULD, Ark. (Jun. 21, 2025) — The Mod Lites of Arkansas hosted its third annual Racing For The Paws event Saturday night at Crowley’s Ridge Raceway. The event featured both Stealth Racing IMCA STARS Mod Lite action and a donation drive benefiting the Northeast Arkansas Humane Society, which collected pet supplies and cleaning products. “This event is special to us as we not only get to bring Mod Lite racing to a new audience in a near-capacity setting, but we also get to do something for a great organization that helps displaced animals find their fur-ever home,” said promoter Bryce Vowan. “Our signature trophy for the event, The Paw, has become a very sought-after item for every racer’s trophy case.” Before the start of the racing program, Paul Alban displayed his no. 74a Sidewinder Chassis atop the hill near the entrance, allowing fans and fellow drivers to drop off donations of pet food, cleaning products, and toys. Many spectators, unfamiliar with Mod Lites, had the chance to see the car up close, ask [Read More]

Kaytee DeVries: Hitting the Century Mark in Sport Compacts

By Ben Deatherage SPENCER, Iowa (Jun. 26, 2025) — On a warm Friday night, June 20, in Slayton, Minnesota, Kaytee DeVries did something only three other IMCA Mach-1 Sport Compact drivers had done before her. At Murray County Speedway, she passed under the checkers for her 100th career sanctioned win, finally reaching a milestone that had narrowly eluded her for nearly a year. “I had win number 99 last August at Slayton,” she said. “So to finally get 100 — and to do it at the same track — it was kind of poetic.” Now in her 15th season, DeVries becomes just the fourth driver in IMCA Sport Compact history to reach the century mark, joining Nate Coopman (297), Ramsey Meyer (230), and Caine Mahlberg (111). Her path to the top wasn’t without struggle. In fact, she almost didn’t get there at all. “It’s true what they say — that last one to 100 can be the hardest,” she admitted. “At the beginning of this year I had all kinds of issues. I’d be leading a [Read More]

Luecht Extends Streak with SportMod Domination at Barona’s Summer Shootout

By Ben Deatherage RAMONA, Calif. (Jun. 21, 2025) — Steven Luecht continued his dominance in the Karl Chevrolet IMCA Northern SportMods at the Summer Shootout, winning his ninth straight feature at Barona Speedway Park. After two-time track champion David Kilpela led early and several cautions slowed the action, Luecht grabbed the lead around lap six in the Mike Atkinson-owned no. 47. A lap 15 yellow set up a tense restart with Kilpela close behind, but the Chula Vista chauffeur held strong to win his fourth race of the 2025 season and extend a winning streak at the track that began last August. Kilpela finished second and Arizona’s Scott Francoeur was third. Hicks Hustles to Modified Victory Matthew Hicks made the most of the final night of the Summer Shootout, capturing the Friesen Performance IMCA Modified win after an impressive drive from fifth. By Evan McCrory TOCCOA, Ga. (Jun. 21, 2025) — The Carolina Sprint Tour presented by GSR Chassis wrapped up a sizzling doubleheader weekend under the summer sun on Saturday, June 21st, at the high-banked Toccoa Speedway in Northeast Georgia. With temperatures soaring and competition heating up, a dozen RaceSaver IMCA Sprint Cars signed in to do battle on the lightning-fast red clay oval. Following a redraw, Jeff Oliver and Jake McLain shared the front row for the main event. Oliver jumped to the early lead and controlled the pace for most of the race, expertly navigating traffic and fending off challenges from a hungry field behind him. Drama struck on lap 20 when Matthew Wall slowed with mechanical issues, drawing a caution and bunching up the field for a final dash to the checkered flag. On the restart, the Pendergrass pilot held off heavy pressure from Jadan Bowling from North Carolina and South Carolina’s John Frutchey to score his second win of the season and 21st career victory, tying him with Jake McLain for the all-time [Read More]
